What Is The Mood Of The Last Supper

Leonardo da Vinci painting “The Last Supper” is the famous magnum opus in “High Renaissance”. And different with the other “The Last Supper” he uses a brand new overall management which let the Jesus and his disciples sit together both in the face of the audience.

Different with the Leonardo da Vinci, Tintoretto’s painting can’t see the facial expression clearly the only way to distinguish the Jesus and his disciples is the unusual light shining on their head and shows a strong visual impact. This chiaroscuro put up his straightforward style of painting and obvious emphasize the subject outline. This style makes his painting full of rhythm sensation between the present active and what will happen nest And Tintoretto did not use the traditional style but use a neoteric asymmetrical composition in the painting not only reveal his creatively but also shows the consequence of the Renaissance that the ‘every is equal’s humanistic spirit. Tintoretto breaks the traditional concept of the overall management and the Jesus’ active which pursue his own individuality and make this “The Last Supper” become another magnum opus after Leonardo da Vinci.
