Hey, Question: What does it mean to be a citizen?

Extended Response So what does citizenship means to me? Is it just a piece of paper that says you are a citizen of a country or does it mean something more in a deeper level. With me being born and raised in the United States I have learned a few key points about what a citizen is. To me being a citizen of the United States is to do my commitment towards the country I am a part of.

To fill my commitments to my country means to me. I feel like being a citizen includes both my rights and my responsibilities, whether I am part of a country, state or my community. Each group has it’s own responsibilities and rights. For example when I am an adult I’ll have to pay taxes that will help found for my community & help improve my living conditions. Being a citizen implies rights and responsibilities, whether you are a citizen of the world, your country, your state, your community, or your family. The rights and responsibilities are different for each "community" you belong to, but no matter which community you belong to as a citizen, you have the right to fully participate in that group, and you have the responsibility to participate fully, to be informed about that group, to care for the other members of that group, and to care for the world in which the group lives. ... aaaaaaaaaBeing a citizen implies rights and responsibilities, whether you are a citizen of the world, your country, your state, your community, or your family.     The Declaration of Independence created a representative, democratic, and fair government to break away from the ruling of British government, and the Constitution outlined how this government would function. In these Pillar documents, the mention of citizenship or the definition is lacking. The United States Constitution did not explain citizenship, although it did mention “[t:]he citizens of each state shall be entitled to all privileges and immunities of citizens in the several states” (U.S. Const. art.
