Walk The Line
The movie Walk The Line is based on the famous singer Johnny Cash’s real life. Johnny Cash grew up in the Great Depression era. He had a rough childhood, especially when he lost his older brother at a young age. When Johnny was old enough he moved out of his house, away from his family, and joined the Air Force, he was stationed in Germany. Johnny found his love of music there, and bought his first guitar. The first song he wrote while there was very sad and brought up many emotions for him about his childhood. Johnny made a quick decision one day to get married to his old girlfriend Vivian. She said yes, so they got married and settled down in Tennessee. At the time,

To me art is a beautiful way to show what has happened. It shows how things have happened or how they could. Art is amazing it tells stories to us so we know what has happened or what might happen. Art might be trying to show you a sign about a difficult decision you're having trouble making. The movie Walk The Line is a work of art. It tells the story of Johnny Cash, and all the hardships he went through. It tells about how the Great Depression affected all Americans. This movie showed how ugly drug use can be to people and shows that it’s not a good choice to use them. I see this movie as art because it is trying to teach people something in a creative way. It tells the beautiful story of how Johnny and June fell in love with one another. It shows the terrors that drugs can bring into your life if you let them. This one movie, this one work of art tells many stories. Some are beautiful and some are scary, but they all teach us something that we need to know. This movie has art inside of itself. It shows how music has revolutionized the world, and how it affects people’s emotions. This movie is amazing in many different ways. It tells stories, shows emotions, and brings art into a whole different perspective. This movie is art because it makes the viewer’s emotions show. It makes everyone feel differently, from happy to sad and maybe even a little angry. This is my all-time favorite movie because of all the artwork and emotions it brings to me. This is why I consider this movie to be art

Walk the Line, a 2005 film written by James Mangold, is a biography of Johnny Cash's life, from his days as a young boy to his days as a country music star (IMDb). Unfortunately, Johnny's "perfect" life was short lived, when he got tied up into dangerous substances, drugs and alcohol, and these things caused him to lose all that he held dear to him. By Johnny Cash making these horrible decisions, although wrong, they made…

Everyone has his/her own personal views of art. Art surrounds our lives on a daily basis, and has been around since the beginning of time. There has been many famous artists throughout history including, Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Picasso. These people, along with others, sculpted the idea of visual art as we know it today. Art movements begin with an idea for a painting, followed by the process of putting that idea onto a canvas. Other artists see this painting and decide to “copy-cat” it.…

"Art is not the application of a canon of beauty but what the instinct and the brain can conceive beyond any canon. When we love a woman we don't start measuring her limbs." (Pablo Picasso, 1870) When one looks at a piece that they believe to be art, they stare, they admire, they criticize and then they move on to the next piece. Not everyone will say that the same thing is art, just like not all people believe rap is actual music. Art is what you make of it; it's what's inside ones soul. Himillsy, in The Cheese Monkeys by Chip Kidd, followed her own soul in everything including art, and taking anyone she felt worthy enough along for the ride. Himillsy Dodd takes art because she can. She drops the classes the teacher is ‘too hard' or…

She told the Tennessean newspaper in Nashville,“My mom was basically a nonentity in the entire film except for the mad little psycho who hated his career,” she said. “That’s not true. She loved his career and was proud of him until he started taking drugs and stopped coming home (Baptist Press).” Kathy did not think her mother's character was in any way accurate of how her mother truly felt. Vivian was supportive through Johnny’s career. She was not as cold-hearted as she was played to be in the film. John Carter Cash, the only son of June and Johnny Cash, was an executive producer for, Walk the Line. He commented on her concerns by saying, “Kathy grew up in a household I was never in,” he told The Tennessean. “I’m compassionately understanding. The point of the film is my parents’ love affair. The most important thing for my parents on this earth was their love for each other (Baptist Press).” He was focused on capturing the love affair between his parents and less focused on the actuality of some events. The movie, Walk the Line, had several inaccuracies throughout it other than Vivian Cash being…

What is art? Although it is a drawn out cliché, the issue must be addressed. The best definition I could come up with is the combination of two definitions. Zaidel believes art attracts attention and elicits an aesthetic-related response.2 This definition is over-inclusive; if anything that attracts attention is art then is a traffic cone art? According to Haselberger, works of art are objects produced with the intention that they be aesthetically pleasing and not merely pragmatically functional.3 This definition is under inclusive, limiting art to solely be “pleasing”. Art attracts attention and elicits an aesthetic-related response but it is beyond functionality. This definition also helps to differentiate between art and tools, which are two similar but not equal things. Art is more about aesthetics while tools are more about functionality.…

"Walk the Line" is a biographical film about the life and times of country 's bad boy, Johnny Cash. The movie starts out midway through Cash 's career at the legendary ‘Folsom Prison Concert ' of 1968. Before you see Cash perform at the prison you are whisked back to his childhood. It tells the story of his early days on his father 's farm, and his days in the Air Force positioned over in Germany. When Cash returns from Germany his music career begins to take off. His band, Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two, get an audition with the notorious Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records (the label that founded Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Carl Perkins…Just to name a few). Cash is immediately signed, cuts a record, and heads out on his first musical tour, which happens to be of historical proportions. The tour includes all the boys founded by Sun records that I mentioned above, and also June Carter, Cash 's impending love interest. His music elevates him to stardom he could have never dreamed of, but drug and alcohol abuse threaten to drag him right back down. They also get in the way of a possible romance with June, the love of his life, even after Vivian Cash leaves him. The film continues Cash 's story into the late 1960s, and rejoins with the opening scene in Folsom Prison for an emotional ending.…
