Assignment 7: "Sample Instructions - Final" How to Prepare the Ultimate Vanilla Cheesecake
INGREDIENTS
2 cups of finely crushed vanilla wafers,
1/3 cup of melted butter
1¼ cups of sugar
4 eggs
1 cup of sour cream
3-8 ounce packs of Philadelphia cream cheese
1-½ tablespoons of McCormick Extra Rich Pure Vanilla Extract
1 can of cherry or blueberry pie filling
APPLIANCES
Pre-heated Oven
Electric hand mixer
1 medium and 1 large size mixing bowl
9-inch glass-cooking pan
DIRECTIONS
Adults:
1. Preheat the oven to 325° F
2. Finely crush 2 cups of Vanilla Wafers
3. Melt 1/3 cup of butter
4. Thoroughly mix the ingredients until well blended
5. Pour ingredients into a 9-inch glass-cooking pan
6. Mix the following ingredients into a large bowl on high until well blended:
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 cup of sour cream
• 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
• 1 cup of sour

Pour the mixture into the prepared crust

For this assignment, I selected a recipe that I’ve used on many occasions, because it closely resembles one that my mother used to make when I was younger. I did, however changed the original McCormick’s graphic because it lacked toppings.
Based on instructor feedback, I decided to split the recipe into the following sections; ‘ingredients’, ‘appliances,’ and ‘directions’. Originally, I tried listing all the directions together, indicating the ones that should be performed by an adult, in line with those to be performed by a child. However, this didn’t seem to work very well because I was constantly bouncing back and forth between what the adult had to do with what the kids were responsible for. Inevitably, I decided to list all the steps an adult should perform separate from all the steps a kid should perform. This, in my opinion, seemed to work better as the steps the kids should perform were all listed together, which I believe would made it easier for the kids to
