Tyramine Research Paper
Cadaverine, similar with putrescine, is the decarboxylation product of the amino acid lysine and is a foul-smelling toxic diamine compound produced by the putrefaction of animal tissue. Cadaverine, showing a large number of increase compared to the normal in the cirrhotic samples, was positively correlated with Fusobacteria. The involvement of Fusobacteria in a wide spectrum of human infections causing tissue necrosis and septicaemia has long been recognised [15]. Tyramine is a naturally occurring monoamine compound and trace amine derived from the amino acid tyrosine. The enhancement of amine was significantly correlated with the utilization of amino acid for fecal microbiota.

Acetaminophen is a common analgesic used to treat mild pain. We synthesized acetaminophen by reacting p-aminophenol and acetic anhydride. The amine group on the p-aminophenol reacted with the center oxygen atom on the acetic anhydride to form an amide. We reacted 0.210g of p-aminophenol with 0.240ml of acetic anhydride in the presence of heat, and then cooled the solution in an ice bath until crystals formed. The solid acetaminophen was filtered from the solution and then subjected to a recrystallization using a 50:50 water-ethanol solvent. 0.1484g of crude acetaminophen was measured and after purification 0.0669g of pure acetaminophen was collected. A percent yield of 23% was calculated from our theoretical and actual yield. The melting point…

In the medical field there is a heavy use of prescription drugs. These over the counter drugs can cause side effects that are ultimately worse and can cause worse ailments than the disease they are treating. I totally disagree with the use of these harsh chemicals and compounds. In past years nearly 8 out of 10 deaths in the United States were directly caused as a result of prescription drug abuse. For example, Adderall is a drug that has been classified as a type of legalized form of Methamphetamine and is among one of the most abused drugs in America, mostly used by students at universities. A study done by the Huffington post showed that millions of young people from high school age and college have been abusing the drug to help them “focus” and stay awake during exams. Adderall is a highly addictive drug and most of its heavy users don’t notice the Side…
