Module 1 SLP

Core Professor: Dr. Sara Garski

This is a leading global food service retailer with more than 33,000 local and global restaurants. McDonalds was my chosen business for this project, because this is a major franchise that started out as a BBQ establishment, that grew into a major hamburger franchise over a extended period of time. I think that by analyzing the strategic planning process of McDonalds, I will begin to understand the foundation of a solid business organization and the strategic management process. In order to complete my analysis I will use the McDonalds business website at http://www.aboutmcdonalds.com/mcd/our_company.html.
The McDonalds Corporation mission is to be our customers’ favorite place and way to eat. Our worldwide operations are aligned around a global strategy called the Plan to Win, which center on an exceptional customer experience through people, products, place, price and promotion. McDonalds is committed to continuously improving their operations and enhancing our customers’ experience. The goals or as McDonalds identifies them as the values of the corporation is to 1. Place the customer experience at the core of all we do 2. Be committed to the people 3. Believe in the McDonalds system, and to operate their business ethically.
The success of McDonalds continues to be truly global, with some of the highlights to include the U.S. Such balanced growth highlights the deeping connection with all of the customers as well as strengthen the ever increasing global economy. The McDonalds’ commitment to the stakeholders is in two folds, first the commitment to the Plan to Win, which has served as the operational roadmap for the past nine years.
