Tiny Ripple Of Hope In History

Kennedy) Some may say that standing up to the littlest thing is worthless, but little do they know standing up to the smallest thing can make the biggest impact on someone or something else. Throughout history, we’ve seen many men and women stand up for what they believe which causes a tiny ripple of hope. Such as in 1790 in the Haitian Revolution where it was the largest and most successful slave rebellion in the Western Hemisphere. Such as the quote says “Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve many others, or strikes out against injustice, he send forth a tiny ripple of hope...” Toussaint l’Overture was that man who sent out a ripple of hope when he decided he couldn’t stand being a slave and couldn’t stand how others and himself were being treated. I think it is a big part of my life because if I see someone being bullied, I stand up for the victim and it causes a ripple of hope to the victim and to the others that were watching that it is not okay for someone to be bullied. I believe this because I’ve seen my friends stand up for something that is injustice and I see their friends do the same and so on and so forth. Even though there are people out in the world who won’t stand up, there are way more people who would do the right thing which will one day build a current so big that it will sweep down the biggest wall of bullying.
