Time Machine
If I could spend a day with one person….
Human being is the God’s creature which is created with intelligence, emotion, and passion. In human’s life, there will always be something or even many things that is wanted or repented. Therefore, human often wishes to meet someone whom he really yearns, someone who can correct his repented mistakes or someone who can meet his needs. If I could spend a day with one person, I wish it will be Doraemon.

Doraemon is an imaginative character made by a Japanese cartoonist. Doraemon is a robot comes from the future and has many great machines with various wonderful functions in his pocket. As an ordinary people, there are many things I regretted in the past, so that I need one of Doraemon’s machines, which is called ‘Time Machine’. By using this time machine, I can go back to the past to correct my repented mistakes. The time machine does not only function to bring us to the past, but it can also bring us to the future. Hence, besides correcting the mistakes from the past, I can also prevent the mistakes which I would make in the future. By doing these things, I hope my life will be much better.

Besides the time machine, Doraemon also has a machine called “Any Where You Want to Go ‘Door’ ”. As it is called so, this door could take us anywhere we want to go. By using this door, I would go around the world. I want to visit many beautiful places, meet many popular people like Justin Timberlake, Paris Hilton, Rihanna, Chris Brown and many more. Since I only have one day to do all these things, I would ask Doraemon for his ‘Time Controller Machine’. Time controller machine is a machine that can control the time speed. By using this machine, I will make this one day becomes such a full week or even as long as I want.

All these things could only happen in an imaginary life, it would never happen in real life. As human is created with passion, there will be no any limit of human’s need. Everything will always be never enough.

Gandhi once said “There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed.” Gandhi is saying that there is more than enough things for humans to survive but a person's greed can never be fulfilled. This is proven true in the novel “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie and the movie “Devil”. Humans are greedy and their greed can never be fulfilled.…

E.F Schumacher shows an example of how greedy humans can be when they always want more even if there is no more. In societies, rich people feel as if they deserve to have more and the poor just strive for necessities. In the present, the poor third world countries hope to make it through the day and the rich are still hoping for things they can achieve…

Desires: I’d say almost all sentient beings have them, whether it be primal desires -food, water- or the most intelligent, rational wants like wanting a new job or wanting to achieve a specific feat, but to what distances would people go to make their desire reality? Humans have been known to go to extremes to acquire what they want, and those people are presumed as great, people who have superior abilities who used them to accomplish something impressive. But the bigger the accomplishment the higher the stakes and the more difficult the wall becomes to climb over. Those who find it in themselves to keep pushing are the ones who create the world around us.…

Well since we are generalizing humans I will do so as well, obviously at the individual level things are completely different but generally, this is my stance on the insatiability of human wants. We as humans obviously from way back when have always wanted more. More food, more water, more money; it is just how we have become as a species. The same with bigger buildings, more sophisticated cars, if anything technology would be great for this. Compared to lets say our technology during the space race, we have a come an extraordinarily long way as a species from that point in time. If we were to ever stop this wanting so to speak then we would be contempt with ourselves and wouldn’t stride for anything more. This just isn't who we are. I don't…

Humans have evolved tremendously over the centuries. We used to live in caves and kill senselessly just to survive. We transformed into sophisticated creatures where the best of us live in mansions and build iPhones to buy food. Because of these advancements, one would expect an almost perfect society in a few millennia from today. One man goes into the future with these expectations but is thoroughly disappointed to find a society that has degressed in more than one way. Apart from the lack of technology, he discovers there is a grim reality . H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine is about a seemingly utopian world with danger lurking under the surface.…

The poor get poorer and rich get richer. In The Time Machine by H. G. Wells, that statement is true due to the way society has seemed to devolve, at least in the eyes of an unnamed Time-Traveler, by the year 802,701 CE. To convey his message of how humans will be driven apart by social class, Wells uses technology and the relationship between the two sub-species of humanity.…

The device hold information about the life of the owner but can also solve any problem that they would need. The android has become that friend that you relay on more than an actual human being. Turkle exemplifies that “Digital connections and the sociable robot may offer the illusions of companionship without the demands of friendship.” (Turkle 263). With progresses of technological research, automatons have been built to offer the idea of friendship. It is meant to be there to give comfort and take away the feelings of loneliness. However, the android takes away the feelings of solitude but the it does not require anything back, it does not request for the person to comfort the machine Technology was not meant to take the place of a human being, it was made to simplify the life of the populaces. Technology has not just given people a virtual friend but also taken away time to spend time with realistic friends. Gopnik epitomes on how technology has distracted us from authentic lives, ““Oh, you know… just… bumping into Charlie Ravioli,” meaning, just bouncing from obligation to electronic entreaty, just spotting a friend and snatching a sandwich, just being busy, just living in New York.” (Gopnik 160). With the evolution of technology, it has become an obsession to always have any time of technology on hand. The idea of an authentic life does not fully exist in the idea of this new time and age. Technology has taken so much of each individuals’ time that they tell others whom they care about that they are too busy for them. The digital equipment that is used as a daily distraction, it makes it a difficulty to live authentic lives. The android that is carried in everyone’s pockets gives people the busyness and the interference to avoid seeing others. The electronic devices have been…

Why must we want more and more? Where do we stop and say this is enough? Greed is in the pit of human nature. One must strive for more, more, and more regardless what he/she sacrifice. In the story of “Gift of the Magi” the author O. Henry wrote about a naïve woman named Della who live in a very modest and comfortable furnished apartment with her loving husband. Unfortunately, Christmas was around the corner and she stress herself out because she wanted to buy something that is expensive for her husband. “Something fine and rare and perfect, something worthy of her special Jim” (Henry 41). One might think that she is an unbelievably a great wife because of how she think but just take a look deeper then one can see how silly she was. There are only two things that her and her husband have pride in is her long hair and his watch that belong to his family for many generations. Her irrational behavior led her to a hair shop and chop off her hair so that she can sell them for money. In return she got enough to buy her husband an expensive present. She has to ran all over town to buy him the watch fob which is a short chain for a pocket watch so that his watch would look nicer in it. Greed has blinded her for something that was shiny and expensive so that she can have him show it off in public. She failed to recognize that the best present she can give her husband was just to love him…
