Angels and Demons in the Bible

Introduction
The differences between Angels and Demons are apparent in many ways. Many of us hear about angels through word of mouth and know about them through this manner as well. Angels are on the good side on the battle between good and evil. Angels are mentioned several times in the Bible, however, Theologians still find it a very difficult subject. Demons on the other hand are “evil Angels” that are on the bad side in the battle. In this paper you will discover the differences and in some instances the likeness between the Angels and Demons discussed in the Bible.
Theological Definition of Angels
The theological definition of the word Angel is “messenger”, generally a supernatural messenger from God. The word usually signifies a “spirit” however, the messenger may be human. The time of the angel’s creation is never really stated in the Bible. We do however know they were created before the creation of man thanks to the book of Job. The Bible states the God was the creator of all angels in John 1:1-3.
Biblical Foundation of Angels The study of Angels is called Angelology. Angels are spiritual beings that have intelligence, emotions and will. This applies to both good and evil angels. Angels do not have a physical body, per se, but this does not affect their personalities. Angels do not know as much as God does but they do have a greater knowledge than humans. “Angels have greater knowledge than humans possibly because of the following three reasons:
Angels were created as a higher order of creatures in the universe than human are, therefore innately they possess greater knowledge.
Angels study the Bible and the Word more thoroughly than humans do and gain knowledge from it.
Angels gain knowledge through long observation of human activities. Unlike humans, angels do not have to study the past; they have experienced it.
