Brazil we have a good example that is the two big states Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Everybody knows about the rivalry between people from Sao Paulo and people from Rio de Janeiro. The rivalry is about the way they live and who has the better quality of life. They call each other “lazy people,” means that they put recreation in a first place, and “no life,” means that living to work and make money only. Both states are very famous around the world for different things. There are three primary areas of contrast between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The first contrast is economy. On one hand, we have Sao Paulo that is the most populous Brazilian state with 40 million inhabitants, and it is the most important financial center of the country. It is also, the richest city of Brazil, and exerts strong regional influence in commerce and finance as well as arts and entertainment. There is a place for the most renowned companies, banks, industries, universities, technology, focusing on services and business for the country. The special occupations that inhabitants of Sao Paulo pursue is another characteristic of the city. People in Sao Paulo have a lot of opportunities to find a good job and high salary, so they have to work full time and really hard to keep it because of the competitive market. Sao Paulo has many companies from other countries that employ a lot of people such as Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Hp, Philips, and many others that increase the economy there, and for these kinds of companies people work eight hours per day and have good benefits. Most of the people there work 12 hours per day, and a part time job is almost impossible to find. The stress in Sao Paulo is the bad side of this place that offers possibilities to have a great career and a successful life. Finally, the social life in Sao Paulo is
