In 1862 the tax paying agency was formed. During war times, the citizens of USA needed pro-tection from other countries. The government could not raise all the money for war expenses. President Lincoln and the United States congress decided to seek money from the public. That was the beginning of taxation. There are a lot of reasons for taxation and these are the basis for formation of the IRS. The IRS deals with estate, corporate and gift taxes as well as collects taxes from employment and individuals it is responsible for the administration of all types of taxes. The original (1913) due date was March 1 in 1918 that date was moved forward to March 15 and remained so until 1954 when the current due date of April 15 was established. Travel expenses are among the most common business expense deductions. So first of all, we should determine whether the taxpayer is in titled to deduct her travel expense. Section 162 of the Code provides for the deduction of travel expenses while “away from home” in the pursuit of a trade or business. A similar deduction is allowed for travel expenses connected with income-producing activities not constituting a business. The taxpayer must be away from home before travel expenses are deductible. The “away from-home” test poses two questions: for what period does the taxpayer need to be away from home, and where is the taxpayer’s home for tax purposes? With respect to the first question, the Supreme Court has ruled that the away-from-home test generally requires the taxpayer to be away from home overnight. According to taxpayer’s statement, she will left United States on June 4 and will come back on June 11. So she is obviously away from home overnight. The second aspect of the away-from-home test concerns the determination of the taxpayer’s tax home. The IRS and Tax Court have defined the term tax home to mean the business location of the taxpayer or the general vicinity of the taxpayer’s employment, regardless of the location of the taxpayer’s personal…

Under American Revolution we understand politic developments in British colonies in North America in 1775-1783, which ended up creating the United States. They were caused by the unwillingness of the colonies to obey to the interests of the metropolis. The slogan that best expressed the cause of the revolution was ‘No taxation without representation’. It was widely used as a main complaint to royalty and colonial administration during the American Revolution. The slogan originated in the 50 - 60 years of the XVIII century, when British colonists in America began to realize that in spite of their large number and business activities, which are taxed, they have no representation in the Parliament and cannot exercise their rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, adopted in 1689. Let’s look a little bit closer to the history.…

The colonists strongly desired independence and separation from Britain once taxation without representation was imposed on them. The colonies struggled to earn their representation in the Parliament of their mother country. They were turned down repeatedly and this caused huge issues for the colonists; it was the complete reason for the Revolutionary War. Therefore, the demand for no taxation without representation was the primary force to motivate America against Britain and it was also a symbol for democracy.…

I live in an area called Fredrickson. It’s said to be upper middle class due to the Boing plant. Anyways if I go to the Walmart and shop the prices are different and so is the tax on the items I purchase I was surprised by this. Not only are the prices different but the items that the store carries differ from the others, this is the same with the Safeway store on Canyon rd. the stores are at opposite ends of the road and the prices are different the items are different they cater to the social status of the area. Anyway my point is that places like Seattle have people who own over half of the city and pay no taxes they make it next to impossible to live in the city unless a person is wealthy or homeless. I did a lot of research on the city of Seattle, and sat in on council meetings I can tell you I was appalled with what I learned.…

If you struggle with wanting more rights, or you do not believe you are a “free man”, you ought to look up the rights you would have had before the end of the Revolutionary War. You may find yourself thanking God for the rights and liberties you do have now as well as finding a new appreciation for the men who fought for those liberties. In the article, Samuel Adams, The Rights of the Colonists, we are informed that the colonist’s believed their rights were Life, Liberty and Property. These were their rights, only they were not able to exercise these rights freely. It was hard for them to live the day to day life under the power of Parliament and I understand why they wanted out. The colonists were on one side of the Atlantic while the group of people dictating everything the colonists did was on the other side. Is that not insane?…

The Common Sense Party supports a light progressive taxation tax plan which gives low income and middle class earners a chance to save more money to spend on their bills and necessities. We believe that higher income individual earners have more money to spend on bills and necessities with a larger sum left over for savings than a low income earner or a middle class earner. However we do not believe in overtaxing high income earners to the point that people are discouraged of taking high income jobs. The Common Sense Party also believes that a light progressive tax system is fair to all income earners and it supports the middle class which is important to what makes America.…

Progressive taxation rates are unethical and need to be changed. The media likes to say the rich need to pay their fair share and I will show that if everyone paid the same percentage of their income without all the loopholes the current tax system has the government would be better off. This is an ethical issue that needs to be addressed by our current and future leaders to help eliminate the extraordinary amount of debt our country currently has to reimburse.…
