The Holocaust: Final Solution

The Holocaust- Final Solution The Final Solution was annihilation of the Jews. Hitler was the one that lead the Nazi’s to kill the Jews. The only way that this or even the Holocaust could have happened was because of World War II. Three things had leaded the Holocaust; if any of these were taken away it could have never happened. Firstly, Hitler had to bring all the Jews under his control. In 1939, he had only 1% of Jews under his power. In three short years in 1942, he had 75% of Jews under his command. Secondly, the war helped provide isolation to Germany. No one actually knew what they were doing. Even if the Nazi’s were to be questioned they could deny this. That is how strong their protection was from the world. Lastly, the war made the training of individuals to carry out sub-human acts. After Hitler came into power in 1933 in February of that year the Reichstag fire had happened. It is believed that Hitler deliberately set this fire. This was where the congress of Germany would meet. This made the state declare a state of emergency. That meant that all laws were suspended and that no one had a say in what Hitler was doing. The fire was a way of Hitler getting the revenge he wanted. Later on boycotts, laws, and arrests left the Jews isolated from society because no one wanted to be near them. When the first concentration camp opened in March 1933, in Dachau no one actually knew what would actually happen to the Jews. Hitler had become busy with war and never actually knew what to do with the Jews and he had Himmler in charge. The decision was supposed to be set in mid- December 1941but, Pearl Harbor delayed the meeting. It was rest in January in 1942. It was called the Wansee Conference. Heydrich (Nazi official) was the only leader there present. He helped lead the attack on the Jews. It was decided that all the Jews would be killed and that no one was to survive. Genocide. Hitler was ready to kill a whole mass of people for nothing. The first actual Chelmo (another name for death camp) opened in 1941. The rest had all opened in 1942. Poland was the one that had the six major death camps. When Heydrich placed the Jews in the ghetto’s he placed them close to the train stations so that they could easily be transported. The Jews would get onto the trains that would lead them to the death camps. From afar you could smell the burning of the skin in the air. After, reaching there the people would get off and men, woman, and children would be separated. 90% of the men would be killed and 10% of them would be used for labor. 90% of the women and children would be killed and the rest were used for work and prostitution. No one would even believe that they would meet again. Before actually being killed the Jews gave up there clothing, all their hair would be taken and then they would be killed. They would be liquidated, shot, or even forced to their death. There bones would be used as fertilizer and there gums would be searched for gold teeth. The Nazi’s believed that everything that they were doing was good. That killing these people was good and that they deserved it. Hitler had made these people believe everything that he wanted them to believe all because they were desperate and they needed a leader. Everything was done in secret. Throughout, the rest of Germany these death camps were actually believed to be unreal. Himmler and Heydrich both had a well-kept hand in making all these death camps possible. These people on the trains believed that freedom would be there’s but, only to their knowledge only death lied in front of them. Out of the people that would be left alone through the trains they would be stamped with a number and put in big rooms filled with beds. The sick, the dying, pregnant women, children, elderly were all put into a room together. They would have to suffer through the pain. The Nazi’s would make them do things that they had to do or else they would severely be punished. For example, they would make everyone stand outside, in the cold for no reason. They would stand until they were told to move and if they fell they would be beaten. The Jews went through harsh conditions. Hitler had been very clever on how he would get the people on his side. He started out slowly doing things that would not stand out. If he went into this saying in the beginning that he would kill all the Jews than no one would have followed him. He started out with getting the people on his side and making them think and believe him. After the mass murders in total, about six million Jews had been killed. That was 2/3’s of how many Jews are throughout the whole world. What I have learned is that no one be good. That no matter how much you believe that you are doing the right thing you are not. The Nazi’s believed that they were doing well but, actually they were not. They killed the innocent and for that they did suffer. After even learning my mind has not changed about what I think about the Holocaust. I still feel that disgust when thinking about what happened to those innocent people. How they suffered for something that a crazy man had believed. I strongly object to this. I think that it may have helped the Jews become stronger as a group of people and that the realized how much it really means to lose your everything. As a group of people the Jews have learned to move on and forget the past because it helped make them who they are now. I believe that what I thought before is still what I believe and that all those men punished deserved their fate because they could have stopped this but, they did not. No one did not until it was almost too late. This is what I believe about the Holocaust.
