The Bible consists of sixty six books written over the course of approximately 1,500 years and is at least 98% accurate in all of the translations of the Bible. The Bible is split up into two different sections the Old Testament which include thirty nine books and the New Testament which contain twenty seven books. The New Testament was written mostly by the Apostle Paul. Paul wrote thirteen books/letters and he was one of the authors of Hebrews. Paul’s letters taught on how to live a Christian and godly life. One of the best letters on the topic of how to live a Christian Life is Romans, more specifically Romans chapter eight. Romans eight talks about life through the Spirit. The purpose on this paper is to show how the Spirit is essential to our sanctification and our Christian life.
Romans 8:1-4, Life through the Spirit
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-4
“Romans 8 has been called the ‘inner sanctuary within the cathedral of Christian faith.’ ”1 The first part of Romans 8 speaks of life through the Spirit. Verse one says “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…” (vs. 1) Paul is stating that “Christians have been placed beyond the reach of the condemnation of God.
