The Blame For The Death Of Romeo And Juliet
Many people took part in the death of Romeo and Juliet, but out of all the wrong done who deserves the blame? In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo was heart broken until he saw Juliet at a Capulet’s masquerade ball. Then as they began to date they wanted to be married, but would have had to be married in secret due to their feuding families. When Friar Lawrence agreed to marry them, their worlds flipped upside down in a twist of unfortunate events. Friar Lawrence deserves the blame of their deaths because he married Romeo and Juliet, he gave Juliet a sleeping potion, and he did not make sure Romeo received his letter. One reason that Friar Lawrence deserves the blame is because he agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet. By marrying Romeo and Juliet

    Friar Lawrence’s ill-thought out action was one of the main contributions to the downfall of Romeo & Juliet. His actions in marrying the two resulted in a long series of unfortunate events. He gave the poison to Juliet, he trusted someone else with a letter of such high significance to deliver to Romeo, and vanished when Juliet was in the most danger in the tomb. If he had not have made these three major mistakes the couple would still be alive. The Friar also sees the marriage as a way of reconciling the two disputing families.
