It was a time of prosperity and startling contrast in American life. World War I was over, women got the right to vote, fashion took a liberal turn, and alcohol was outlawed, jazz filled the air and airwaves, and just about everybody who could afford it, went to the movies in roaring twenties.

At the beginning of the decade most lived without electricity, America was electrified in the 1920’s. The Government was spending billions on roads, highways and bridges. Advertisements on the roadways was new phenomenon. Advertisement was helping not just to transfer physical landscape but also the cultural. Radio was also becoming as important as cars in 1920’s. Almost every store in the America even grocery stores were selling radios. Suddenly all Americans were listening same things, laughing at the same jakes. Along with technological pattern, the social pattern also begun to shift. Expanding job market had given women more and more career and the disposable income to do with what they wish. In the 1920, according to the nineteenth amendment, now women had right to vote. According to the “Sixty-sixth Congress Of the United States Of America” signed by the Speaker of the house of Representatives and Vice president of the United States, “The right of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of Sex” (1).
