Teamwork Sports
Topic: Participating in team sports helps to develop good character
Team sports in schools/ universities have always been a hotly-debated topic among students. Some are in favor of taking part in team sports because of its advantages, while others are not interested in it. From my own perspective, I have strong belief that participating in team sports helps to develop good character.
First of all, team sports help students build teamwork spirit, which is an important soft-skill not only in academic life but also in real life. Team sports require the effort of the whole team to be able to succeed. They have to put aside their individual things to work as one for their highest goal: win the game. Therefore, they have to learn ways to corporate with their teammates. Moreover, it’s likely to have conflicts when you play as a team. These conflicts will give students golden chances of learning ways to solve problems. It will help them to stay calm to be capable of dealing with more serious problems when they come to work in the near future.
Second of all, responsibility is of great importance. Participating in team sports definitely makes students become more aware of and responsible for their own actions. Since they work in a team, their actions make an influence on other people and any irresponsible action of them can lead to the final bad result of the whole team. For example, in a marathon competition, if a runner comes late, it may cause a chaos among the teammates and make the spirit of the team down.
Some may argue that taking part in team sports will give the students excuses to neglect the important thing: studying. Since the schedule of the team is made to be the most convenient for the whole, it may have some conflicts with their own schedule and sometimes they have to choose sacrifice the time to study for the team. But most of students today are active and take part in many different activities besides study. They have to handle many works at the same

Nearly 65% of children say they participate in sports to be with their friends (Statistic Brain). Sports were established so that the individual could not only exercise, but also to compete against a rival. Just as there are individual sports, there are team sports in high school.
