TDI (GUI)
In the area of graphical user interfaces (GUI), a tabbed document interface (TDI) or a Tab is one that allows multiple documents to be contained within a single window, using tabs as a navigational widget for switching between sets of documents. It is an interface style most commonly associated with web browsers, web applications, text editors, and preference panes.
GUI tabs are modeled after traditional card tabs inserted in paper files or card indexes (in keeping with the desktop metaphor).
The name TDI implies similarity to the Microsoft Windows standards for multiple document interfaces (MDI) and single document interfaces (SDI), but TDI does not form part of the Microsoft Windows User Interface Guidelines.

History
The NeWS version of UniPress 's Gosling Emacs text editor was the first commercially available product to pioneer the use of multiple tabbed windows in 1988. It was used to develop an authoring tool for the Ben Shneiderman 's HyperTIES browser (the NeWS workstation version of The Interactive Encyclopedia System), in 1988.[2][3] HyperTIES also supported pie menus for managing windows and browsing hypermedia documents with PostScript applets. Don Hopkins developed and released several versions of tabbed window frames for the NeWS window system as free software, which the window manager applied to all NeWS applications, and enabled users to drag the tabs around to any edge of the window.[4]
HyperTIES was a "hypermedia" browser, a term first used by Ted Nelson in 1965. The first "web" browser came out later in 1990,[5]and the term "World Wide Web" was not invented until 1990.[6]
Four years later, in 1994, BookLink Technologies featured tabbed windows in its InternetWorks browser. That same year, a text editor called UltraEdit also appeared with a modern multi-row tabbed interface. The tabbed interface approach was then followed by the Internet Explorer shell NetCaptor in 1997. These were followed by a number of others like IBrowse in

Electronic data interchange (EDI) is the structured transmission of data between organizations such as documents or business data from one computer system to another computer system electronically. The transmission is done from one business organization to another similar organization without human intervention. EDI can be used to describe the technology by which business documents (such as orders, invoices, shipping contracts, etc) are transmitted electronically. Under this concept, a file is copied to a diskette and loaded into another computer or transmitted over Internet or Intranet. A more precise definition implies direct computer-to-computer communication of business transactions in a standard format where each computer understands the meaning of each field without human assistance. EDI began in the early 1970s when the transportation industry (i.e. ocean, trucking and rail) formed the Transportation Data Coordinating Committee (TDCC). The TDCC is a non-profit organization in Washington DC and organizes data standards, formats codes, and protocols for the transportation of business documents. The first TDCC standard, composed of 45 transaction sets, was published in 1975. ASC X12 was introduced in 1979 and had the standards on those developed by the TDCC. Computer technology was not very developed that time and the majority of computers were mainframe computers running proprietary operating systems. There were numerous modem standards and most protocols for transmitting files were supplier specific. Even sending tapes was not easily accomplished because some used the 8 bit character encoding (EBCDIC system) to store alphanumeric data and some used ASCII. The basic reasons for the introduction of EDI include low cost, reduction in paper dependency, improved customer service, reduction in mistakes and improved competitiveness. Since the emergence of the Internet, EDI has received a great deal of research attention,…

The layout of the main screen of the chosen application, had as main objective the simplicity and available on the first screen of the application the most important records for glycemic control. Another important aspect is access to functionality by the user, making it clear the purpose of each widget and does not hinder the user's choice. Thus, the main screen was developed using the TableLayout in order to put the buttons to access the logs in a grid. The first version of Microsoft Word was developed by Charles Simonyi and Richard Brodie, former Xerox programmers hired by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1981. Both programmers worked on Xerox Bravo, the first Microsoft WYSIWYGword processor. The first Word version, Word 1.0, was released in October 1983 for Xenix and MS-DOS; it was followed by four very similar versions that were not very successful. The first Windows version was released in 1989, with a slightly improved interface. When Windows 3.0 was released in 1990, Word became a huge commercial success. Word for Windows 1.0 was followed by Word 2.0 in 1991 and Word 6.0 in 1993. Then it was renamed to Word 95 and Word 97, Word 2000 and Word for Office XP (to follow Windows commercial names). With the release of Word 2003, the numbering was again year-based. Since then, Word 2007, Word 2010, and most recently, Word 2013 have been released for Windows.…
