3.2 Describe the purpose and objectives of the team in which you work. The purpose and objective in the team in which I work is to provide a safe learning environment to the pupils as well as the staff, We also help each and every child reach their full potential we do this in our class by dividing the children into groups of ability. Once class work is underway we will go to the group and assist them in the days topic or task. We also meet regularly to talk about what we have observed and experienced whilst helping the children this then helps us all to work towards better results in teaching and support. For example a new child started the school and I was asked to listen to he read a variety of different level reading books and to feed back to the class teacher what they found to easy and hard so that this can help her in giving the child a reading level.
We motivate the children in our school by using a merit system which the children get a number of different merits across all subjects and behaviour they collect these on cards collecting to fill up the cards -bronze, silver and gold once these cards are filled up the are sent to the head teacher who then gives the children a certificate for bronze and for silver a certificate in an assembly in front of key stage 2.
Alongside this in class we give out stickers to indervidual children to help motivate them whilst completing the task this can be anything from using capital letter and full stops to just working nicely without disrupting.
