Tardiness and a Military Career
The main reason for this essay is because I did not follow out proper
Orders. Also i was not at the correct place of duty for accountability of myself. Regardless of my reasons for tardiness, there is no excuse big enough or serious enough to not make it to formation on time and thus resulting in my untimely tardiness. I should have atleast or at the minumum given a courtesy call to my chain of command. I want to be an poignant soldier and I want to excel in my military career. Tardiness is pure laziness, irresponsibility, un-leadership like qualities that of which don't have have neither the right place a claim of existence within nor to continue residing in my work ethic. As I have mentioned before I'd like to continue my tough journey up the road of leadership and this type of action will not get me there. First step I need to put into action is making sure I'm always accounted for which in turn means you are in time for the place of duty. If not fifteen or more minutes prior to the specified time. It's a simple task that is easy and painless to follow through on, and it will be accomplished. On a seperate chord but the same note, the word punctuality comes to my mind. It's definition in the dictionary is "acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed". Punctuality shows that you are responsible , trustworthy , and can follow orders. Punctuality isn't just a hidden value that the army requires but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a persons character. It shows that you have the personal integrity and self
-discipline. Under the military life there is no margin of error. The slightest messup can result in the loss of lives. There are many circumstances that not being on time can effect these variables. Not arriving for guard duty at the designated time could allow a breach of security that could allow the enemy to ultimately end in the brutal murder of my unsuspecting battle buddies and myself at the hand of our enemies.

Being on time is important in everything you do especially in the medical field. By not being on time you can cause problems for not just you but other people as well. For instance, if you are to be replacing someone and you are not on time you can make that person late because they had to wait for you. By just one person being late can disrupt the events of an entire day and also a whole day of scheduling. An example of this is a patient having to wait for medical services due to you being late. If you are late to an appointment you are taking up valuable time that could be used by another person. Another reason it is always important to be on time is if you are going to a job interview and you are not on time you could lose the position because it is a first impression of how your work ethic could be. Even if you just make plans with some friends to see a movie, you should be on time because if you are late you and your friends will miss part of the movie. In the military you can receive severe punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for not being on time. Some of the consequences can include loss of rank, loss of pay, and having to pull extra duty while under restriction. Repeatedly being late in the military could lead to a discharge from service. Also if you are constantly late for employment you will face punishment that could include having your hours cut back, your earnings garnished, or possibly fired from that position. After creating a history of being late to a point that you are let go from your job, it can become difficult to find future employment due to the fact that employers will contact your previous employer to find out why you were released from your position with that company resulting in a bad reference. Also after making a habit of being late to your friends, family and your employers you will not be considered reliable you will overlooked with important events due to your lack of time management. Being highly…

On a small scale, being punctual for formations and general points of duty allows leaders to ensure accountability for their soldiers, address notes and tasks for the day, and promotes organization within the unit. In a larger picture, everyone’s responsibilities for the day are dependent on the entire unit to be where they need to be at the appropriate time. For example, in the event of a company going to the range the armor has to be available to open the arms room to issue the weapons as leaders need ample time to take accountability of their soldiers and to thoroughly conduct pre-combat checks and pre-combat inspections. Support units are obligated to arrive on time due to their responsibility to provide ammunition and transportation. Something as simple as the armor being late can cause a domino effect for the entire mission.…

Being at the appropriate place of duty at the correct time is a very important part of being in the Marine Corps. Being at the right place at the right time for any member of the Armed forces is extremely essential to the defense of the entire United States. Also being at the right place at the right time ensures a steady workplace, and ultimately the reliablity that others have on us. A Marine can not move up in the ranks in the Marine Corps if he or she is constantly late and/or at the wrong place. A Marine who truly wants to succeed in the military must go out of his or her way to get squared away and be on time to his or her place of duty or consequences will be bestowed upon them. This concept goes for any person in any career not just the military. Of course being on time in the Marine Corps is being at your appointed place of duty fifteen minutes prior to the actual time of that was ordered. If some one can not carry out the most simple and most important aspect of being on time as a Marine, he or she will be considered unworthy or unfit to be or become an NCO or even higher in they're career. Even if a Marine goes above and beyond in in the workplace, in events, is great with physical, and mental, but is not on time and punctual than he or she will never actually succeed in the military.…

In this amazingly well thought of essay i will discuss with you today of the series of actions that brought me to write this paper, the possible effects these actions might have on the accomplishment of the mission, and how to discourage and possibly stop such things from ever happening to me. The reason I am being subject to this time consuming, uninspired, and rather boring writing assignment is because I failed to be at the correct place of duty at the time appointed to me by my superiors. The story begins on the previous night before the great war known to many as “The Great Flu Battle of Monty Gym” like any other night it will start with a handsome young private he might be a tad on the short side and his chin might not be as squared as he’d like but handsome none the less, and his bad luck with the evil things known as alarm clocks ! As this young private gets off work just like any other day he scurries towards his den his manly cave of freedom, sweat, food, alcohol, and lotion known as his barracks room opening the door as he knows in his mind that now at last he is free from the clutches of the men referred to by the people as THE NCO’s for he knows this is a safe haven where as long as he knows not to make a single peep as Ann Frank once did long ago nothing can harm him with such horrible, wretched, evil weapons known as extra duty or some also known as “detail” but not everyone gets so lucky not everyone can escape alive for those unlucky bastards I applaud for when you so happen to see them again if by luck this is so. it is the look on their defeated eyes like windows towards the soul knowing they could be so lucky as to dine pig at the great halls of a place to some referred as The Taste Korean or maybe drinking slushies’ at The amazing Sonic, but that is not so for them and that is why I salute you my friends my comrades my brothers in arms ! Knowing the worst had passed the young private opening the door already…

Entering any of the United States Armed Forces as a commissioned officer, like many other professions everywhere, requires at least a baccalaureate education. Generally speaking, especially near the beginning of a military career, accelerating career trajectory might best accrue as the result of an institution’s reputation. Under those circumstances, graduates from any of the Military Service Academies regularly garner assignment preferences to say nothing of clear-cut networking advantages over the course of their careers. After the Service Academies, the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs utilized at select colleges and universities across the United States round out an ever-larger mosaic. And not unlike the larger picture,…

    Essay for Being Late.

Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more then likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Time is a precious gem that should not be wasted at any cost. If you don't use your time wisely, you can never get it back. It is a very special resource in that you cannot store it or save it for later. Promptness is not only a duty, but is also a part of good manners, it is favorable to fortune, reputation, influence, and usefulness. Lack of punctuality is a theft of someone else's time and a complete lack of respect for others. You should be punctual in everything you do. Punctuality goes hand in hand with military discipline. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from the day one of boot camp. Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders. This is why we are supposed work so well as a team. By following orders from the more…
