Strategic Plan: Part 1, Conceptualizing a Business
Little League Scoops mission is to provide the healthiest homemade ice cream at the same time as supporting the youth in the local neighborhood. Little League Scoops offers two free scoops of ice cream to the little league ball players after his or her ball game. Little League Scoops, aside from management, only employs students from the local high school, providing a learning experience for students preparing to leave high school.
Organization Vision
“A vision statement is sometimes called a picture of your company in the future but it’s so much more than that. Your vision statement is your inspiration, the framework for all your strategic planning. A vision statement may apply to an entire company or to a single division of that company. Whether for all or part of an organization, the vision statement answers the question, "Where do we want to go?" What you are doing when creating a vision statement is articulating your dreams and hopes for your business. It reminds you of what you are trying to build” ("Vision Statement," 2013).
At Little League Scoops, we provide homemade superior tasting ice cream while fostering healthy activities in our neighborhood youth. Little League Scoops makes the healthiest homemade ice cream fresh daily for those in the surrounding areas. The primary goal of Little League Scoops, other than to become a sturdy long-term company in a small town, is to promote healthy activities in the children by encouraging them to maintain healthy activities throughout the summer vacation. Little League Scoops believes that by promoting healthy activities in children, we create healthy adults with healthy habits. Keeping children busy instead of setting them in front of video games will aid in lowing childhood obesity as well as laziness.

A Vision Statement outlines what the organization wants to be. It concentrates on the future. It is a source of inspiration. It provides clear decision-making criteria. Vision Statements define the organizations purpose, in terms of the organization’s values rather than bottom line measures (values are guiding beliefs about how things should be done.) The vision statement communicates both the purpose and values of the organization. For employees, it gives direction about how they are expected to behave and inspires them to give their best.
