The Final Exam The ENGC 231 Final Exam this semester is one section and will account for 25% of the total mark. In this exam, students are asked to demonstrate the skills they have learned to write a persuasive synthesis essay on a given topic. The students will be furnished with two or three articles related to the topic to help them in the writing process. Moreover, the students will be asked to use in-text citation to acknowledge resources used in the essay. The essay is scored by ENGC 231 teachers using the standardized procedures below. The exam duration is 2 hours. The Exam will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00. See exam schedule (sent earlier) for room or ask your teacher. ENGC231 PERSUASIVE ESSAY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND RUBRIC • Synthesize a persuasive essay in response to others' opinions on a given topic. • Your style should be similar to the style of model persuasive essays studied. • Length should be no less than 300 words.
