Should Billy Budd Be Charged With Murder?
Have you ever been so angry you can’t even speak? Everyone agrees that Billy Budd killed Claggart, but some believe Billy should be charged with murder and others believe he should not be charged with murder. Billy Budd should not be charged with murder for three reasons: Billy couldn't take up for himself, he didn't mean to kill Claggart, and the crew would regret killing Billy. The first reason Billy Budd should not have been charged with murder is because he couldn't take up for himself. Claggart threatened him with mutiny, Billy had a speech impediment so the only way he knew how to defend himself was to suddenly hit Claggart.
The second reason Billy should not have been charged with murder is because he didn’t mean to kill Claggart.

One reason george should not have killed Lennie is because Lennie did not realize how strong he really was. As steinbeck writes, “He shook her then, and he was angry with her. And then she was still, for Lennie had broken her neck”(91) this shows that Lennie was trying to get her to stop screaming, but instead accidentally broke her neck. Also Lennie says, “I’d pet ‘em, and pretty soon they bit my fingers and I pinched their heads a little and they they was dead because they was so little”(Steinbeck 10).…

    Rubout Argument Analysis

Here, we must answer both possibilities with an if-then argument. If (1) was true, then constitution-wise, it’s unquestionably wrong. This one can go a long way. First, the judge didn’t ask for their opinion for justice. In fact, the two we’re still going to have a trial. And by the new law—the death sentence has been, so to speak, rubbed-out. For if they killed the two for moral reasons like vigilantes would reason-out, then again it’s still wrong for no one has the right to put the law in his/her own hands.…
