Fleur de Tour’s Maiden Voyage brings Southern Spice to Pittsburgh
Ship’s arrival throws a Fourth of July, Joie de Vivre (Joy to Live) Welcome Party for the City of Pittsburgh
May 12, 2013, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! (Let the Good Times Roll!) The New Orleans native cruise line is calling Pittsburg its newest expansion city to their Maiden Voyage tour, bringing a twist of Creole and Cajun flare to the heart of Allegheny County. The Maiden Voyage Cruise sends passengers on a culturally rich experience through the lush Mississippi River, docking in some of America’s most influential cities. On July 4 th, the Maiden Voyage’s Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living) themed Welcome Party will feature some of the biggest joys from Creole and Cajun cultures. The event will be catered to adults and children of all ages featuring brass-band performances, Mardi-Gras inspired face painting and, of course, plenty of food and beverages to go around that will satisfy every taste and desire from café au lait and beignets to jambalaya and hurricanes. Guests attending Maiden Voyage’s Joie de Vivre Welcome Party will have the opportunity to test their skills at an oyster-shucking contest, dance to the beats of a “Jazz Off” between local Pittsurghese musicians and street performers of New Orleans, bid on silent auctions featuring works from some of the South’s finest, and indulge in many of the joys of the Creole and Cajun cultures. Acclaimed pastry chef of Pittsburgh’s Vanilla Pastry Studio, Chef April Gruver, will be serving patriotic cupcakes in celebration of the Fourth of July as a fireworks display lights the sky. What better way to celebrate America’s birthday than with this Joie-ful experience, not to be missed! The Maiden Voyage’s Joie de Vivre Welcome Party will kick-off at 11 a.m. upon the ships arrival at the Port of Pittsburgh on July 4th. A press conference is to be followed.
