Romeo and Juliet Whose to Blame for Their Death
Romeo and Juliet
Who’s to Blame for their Death? I believe the blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death belongs to both, those who supported them as well as those that did not. Blame lie especially with Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and the Nurse. Juliet’s father played an important role in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. As the father of Juliet, Capulet is meant to protect his daughter Juliet. Instead, he disregards Juliet feelings puts her down. Lord Capulet acted harsh when Juliet expressed her opinion over Paris. Both of Juliet’s parents deserted her in a challenging situation. Friar Lawrence tried to bring an end to the grudge between the two families by helping Romeo and Juliet get married. His advice to Juliet to deceive her parents and the solution he provided her against the wedding with Paris leads situations that are out of control. Friar also arriving late to the graveyard leads to both Romeo and Juliet’s death. The Nurse has been the main caregiver for Juliet. This relationship allows Juliet to expresses things that girls usually keep secret. She helps Juliet to be with Romeo then suddenly changes her mind. Therefore the Nurse turning her back on Juliet was very devastating pushing her towards death. Lord Capulet played a major part in the death of his own daughter, Juliet. Capulet’s decision to make Juliet marry Paris made everything worse because she did not love him. Capulet kept her from Romeo, who she did love, and ultimately caused her death. “Go ask his name. --If he be married. My grave is like to be my wedding bed.” [Act 5 Scene1] Juliet wanted Romeo and would rather be dead than be without him. Her father was contributing to her death, because she could not have the only person she loved, Romeo. “And with this knife I’ll help it presently. God joind my heart and Romeos, thou our hands -- and ere this hand, by thee to Romeo seald, Shall be the label to another deed.[Act 6 Scene 4] Separating her from someone that she truly loved

Lord Capulet was responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death because he was being really harsh on Juliet's choice on her future.Juliet's father told juliet that if she didn't marry paris she was going to be in big trouble. He mistreated her and said “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!I tell thee to a church Thursday or never after look me in the face” Had he not said that,it would've made Juliet not worry on what she will do and not ask Friar Lawrence for the sleeping potion and play dead.Lord Capulet also arranged the marriage between…

Not only the Nurse and Friar Lawrence was at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet but also Capulet. This is because of his actions towards Juliet and his character. His character changes from being a nice, polite and caring father whereas after the death of Tybalt, he becomes this angry typical type father. Not knowing how Juliet truly feels, he forces her to get married to Paris even though she didn’t want to. He made her feel pressurized and also made her feel scared of what was going to happen next. He made her feel trap like she doesn’t have a choice to weather to marry him or not. Therefore, he should also be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet.…

William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy about two characters from feuding families who are brought together by fate. Romeo, a Montague, falls in love with Juliet, a Capulet, even though she is to be married to Count Paris, kinsman to Prince Escalus. Romeo and Juliet’s parents would not have approved their marriage. In secrecy, Friar Lawrence marries Romeo and Juliet, lies to Juliet’s parents about the situation, and creates a crazy plan to fake Juliet’s death, which does not turn out as intended. Friar Lawrence’s involvement in the marriage of Romeo and Juliet, his lying to the Capulets, and his role in the false death of Juliet are all factors that prove he is to blame in their untimely deaths.…

In Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, the feud between the Montague and Capulet families led to the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet. It has been debated who is really the blame? I think that the person to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is mostly Romeo. In my opinion I would blame him for killing himself in such a hurry thus leading to Juliet’s suicide.…

Most are familiar with the timeless tragedy of the two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. However, along with the tragedy comes the question- Who, or what, is to blame for their deaths? Some would say Friar Lawrence, or the feud, or fate, but while all of those contributed, it could’ve been prevented entirely by one single person: Juliet’s mother, Lady Capulet. She was negligent, manipulative, and bitter.…

From the beginning of the play, we are told that Romeo and Juliet are victims of fate, star crossed lovers whose deaths are unavoidable. I disagree, there are many different actions and thought that could have been different and that could have stopped their deaths. Three of the thoughts, actions, and people that could have stopped Romeo and Juliet's deaths are the feud between the families, Romeo and Juliet’s thoughts, and the friar. There are many scenes and acts that support my disagreement to the statement. The first action that could have prevented their deaths is the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues.…

First of all, the one that are responsible for their death is the Capulet. The first reason is Juliet’s mom doesn’t spend a lot of time with her and understand her. That is the most important thing that parents should do for their kids, but Juliet doesn’t have that. Most of her time, she spends with the nurse and relied on her. That make the distance between Juliet and her mom more farther. “ What say’st thou? Hast thou not a word of joy? Some comfort, nurse.” (Act 3, scene 5, pg 97). She tell the nurse to comfort her when she feel bad instead of her parents. The second reasons is the Capulet don’t listen to her and only do what they think are the best…

Basically, since they were enemies Montagues and Capulets could not like or date each other. The thing was they did not know they were enemies. There are many different opinions on who is responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death, but in my opinion Romeo and Juliet are accountable for their own deaths. While a lot about people hold Romeo and Juliet’s parents accountable for their children’s deaths, Romeo and Juliet made the decision to kill themselves, no one killed them, or forced them to kill themselves. “Well Juliet I shall lay by your side tonight. Let’s see how shall I join you?” - Romeo…

The lovers themselves are to blame for their deaths, because of the decisions they made and also the warnings that they have decided to ignore. “I fear , too early; for my mind misgives/ Some consequence yet hanging in the stars/ Shall bitterly begin his fearful date/ With this night’s revels and expire the term/ Of a despised life, closed in my breast,/ By some vile forfeit of untimely death./ But he that hath the steerage of my course/ Direct my sail! On, lusty gentlemen!” (Act I Scene IV, 106-113) Romeo receives a vision of his future fate in the form in a dream he “fear, too early; for [his] mind misgives/ Some consequence yet hanging in the stars...By some vile forfeit of untimely death” but right after he mentions how he may have an untimely death, he decides to “Direct my sail! On, lusty gentlemen!” (Act I, Scene IV, 106-113) and decides to let fate do what it wants with him. Later on, Mercutio is killed by Tybalt, and Romeo mentions how he is “fortune’s fool” (Act III, Scene I, Line 133) after he killed Tybalt in avenging Mercutio’s death, and is…

The nurse and Friar Lawrence are commonly blamed for the death but I don’t think they are. The nurse always has Juliet’s best interests at heart ad she wants to see Juliet happy, content and leading a good life. Juliet constantly refers to the nurse as ‘sweet nurse’, which shows that they have a close relationship. In fact, the nurse is more if a mother to Juliet then Lady Capulet. The Friar wants to do right by Romeo and he doesn’t like to see him hurt. They have a father-son bond which Romeo cant get with Lord Montague. Both the Friar and the Nurse did everything to make Romeo and Juliet happy but they also helped to resolve the conflict between the two families.…
