Richard Branson: The Two Best Mentors
They say that everything happens for a reason. Every person that comes into our life and leaves a mark on it, stays there on a long term for a reason. Some people become our work mates, others our friends, or teachers, and very few of them turn into our mentors. A mentor is a person that, by age, is more knowledgeable, has more experience and can guide with his advice a person who is willing to absorb his wisdom. From this point of view, a mentor goes far beyond the professional coaching, becoming a support in different life aspects of the person he's mentoring.
In reality, mentors are key pieces in our life trayectory. They are the people who positively influenced our personal and/or professional development. Who doesn't

Yet, Branson finds the interactivity with the work itself the most important thing about his success.
“My definition of success? The more you’re actively and practically engaged, the more successful you will feel.” -- Richard Branson Sara Blakely, the world's youngest self-made billionaire, believes that failure is a part of success, that one must be fired up, passionate about something. She says that the more you do what you love, the more you are actively engaged in the work you're passionate about, the more successful you'll feel and become.
“My definition of failure became not trying, not the outcome.” -- Sara Blakely
Blakely's words are technically the definition of failure, it is the decisive point of what success is: a continuous process of attempts and failure, during which one must not be afraid of failure. She believes that success comes to persistent people, who are willing to try over and over again, who fail, risk, stand up and try it again. In her opinion, success only comes if you are willing to fail, and good things come to those who wait, try, fail and learn from their failures. Willingness is part of the journey to

Success doesn't come easily, but slowly, and as the result of many, many trials and years of perseverant efforts. It’s those who quit, like those who never try, that won’t make it through to success.
“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful entrepreneurs is perseverance.” -- Steve Jobs Sharing Blakely's opinion on perseverance, Steve Jobs reminds us that the key of success in life is continuing to come back and keep going. It is easy to look at successful business people and assume their fame and money came overnight, with no particular effort or failure, yet, rarely is that the case. By the time these "overnight" successes come to our attention, they have usually put in years or even decades of long, hard and dedicated work.

Perseverance , patience and dedication leads to success, success does not mean reaching set goals but gaining something that is more beneficial. Perseverance is shown in “The Happiest Refugee” where the Anh and his family had all there sewing machines stolen this did not stop them they acted as soon as they needed to and I quote “there is now or too late” this shows that they are strong that they have the power to knock anything down even thought life put them to their knees. This is reflected by the movie “The Pursuit Of Happiness” as Christopher and his son strive and everything that hit them they would not give and everything they went through they would not give up they slept in the train to the toilet of a subway they did everything they had to do to live, get money and find success.…

Mentoring is considered to originate from Greek mythology: “Mentor” referring to the ‘wise advisor’ ("Mentoring | Define Mentoring at Dictionary.com," n.d.). Similarly Galvin, 2004, as cited in Sport Coach UK (2010) referenced the Greek origins of mentor as being “a trusted advisor or friend”. Mentoring is a concept that has been around for a long time as an informal process often referred to as informal mentoring “We have all turned to an experienced friend or colleague for advice, especially when we are learning something new or are facing a new challenge” (Australian Sports Commission, 2005, p. 3). However, with organisations gaining awareness of the value of mentoring and establishing that mentoring is a highly effective way for new…

    Describe A Mentor

My definition of a mentor is a trusted and experienced advisor. A mentor is someone who trains a younger person so they can succeed. The mentor I have selected is Ray Broomhall. He was the Head Coach for the Nordic Ski Team at Mountain Valley High School. Ray was not only my coach but my father’s coach when he was in high school on the Nordic ski team. He was my Nordic Ski coach in 4th and 5th grade and then he was my coach all four years of high school. Even when I was racing on the middle school, Ray would still be coaching me even though he was the high school coach. He came back my senior year even after the Athletic Director forced him to resign the year before because the AD wanted a different coach. He never found one so Ray came back…

Mentorship is a personal developmental relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. Unlike similar learning incentives like training programs or offering to pay for courses, mentoring utilizes the resources that the company already has.…

Fawcett (2002) stated that mentors are individuals in possession of knowledge/ expertise who willingly help another of less experience to learn about the field in which they wish to pursue. Mentoring is a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship between two individuals that must be voluntary in order to function successfully (Morrison-Beedy et al., 2001). The mentor supersedes the role model in that there is an open relationship and communication involved. Mentoring is provided by an experienced staff nurse and/or clinical professor (van Eps, Cooke, Creedy, & Walker, 2006).…
