Review Your Role, Responsibilities and Boundaries as a Teacher/ in Terms of the Teacher Training Cycle.
Assignment 1. Review your role, responsibilities and boundaries as a teacher/ in terms of the teacher training cycle.

The teacher training cycle involves the preparation of subject matter with the deliverance of information, knowledge, skills and evaluation of the outcome with respect to its audience and the tutor. According to many educational text books there are five areas to the educational cycle:
Identifying needs.
Plan/design of the course.
Delivery.
Assessments.
Evaluations.
(Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, A Gravells 2008, p28)
While this ‘cycle’ can be started and finished at any point, it is best followed all the way though for it to be the most effective. With this as the base to form any other teacher activity the role, from a dictionary definition would be” the function assumed or part played by a person or thing in a particular situation”. http://oxforddictionaries.com Date accessed 16/05/11. Inside the role will be the responsibilities – “a thing which one is required to do as part of a job, role, or legal obligation” http://oxforddictionaries.com Date accessed 16/05/11 and enveloping these would be teacher boundaries – “a limit of something abstract, especially a subject or sphere of activity” http://oxforddictionaries.com Date accessed 16/05/11.

Having decided what the aim of the teaching is from the governing body and then to design the correct levels from these requirements, we have to consider who is going to be receiving it. Our learners will have different individual and group learning abilities, these will hopefully have been identified prior to the first lesson from our initial interviews/ inductions, from this any special assistance required in basic skills or other disabilities/additional training requirements etc will be highlighted and action plans put in place. Thought should be given to the expected ages of our class, generally they fall in to two ranges; young adults /school leavers and mature
