Results and Conclusion of Research Process
The purpose of this paper is to further analyze the study done on trends in teen pregnancy rates from 1996-2006, a comparison of Canada, Sweden, United States, and England. The items of discussion include data collection methods, data analysis procedures, qualitative, quantitative data, and study findings.
Results: Data Collection Methods
The data collection methods used in this article uses data for the years of 1996-2006 using inputs of live births and induced abortions for teenagers age 15-19 that live in Canada, Sweden, United States, and England. Data method used in Canada is from statistics Canada called CANISM, data method used for Sweden were from multiple sources from statistics of Sweden data included 1,000 women ages 15-19 and the calculations used was number of births to females under 19 years old. The United States data collection method included live births and induced abortions from the source National Center for Health Statistics report. England data collection method is based on live births and induces abortions from Office of National Statics. This data collection method is appropriate for this article because it includes variations that were calculated by making comparison between the four countries in the trends of teen pregnancy and abortion rates based on 1,000 females ages 15-19 over a given years span of 10 years. Reliability and validity demonstrate communication of the research process and the trustworthiness of the findings that were conducted. Research is helpful and should avoid misleading those who use it, reliability should be easy to understand and demonstrate validity is a subtle concept it measures accurately providing useful and trustworthy findings (Roberts, Priest, & Traynor, 2006).

    The fourth source by the Office Of Adolescent Health has a strong and detailed overview of teen pregnancy and childbearing. I found this source through University of Alabama Scout search engine and the audience is the general public. The source includes statistics from 2013 that 273,000 babies were born in the US from females ages 15-19. The text also mentions the sad reality that comes along with teenage pregnancy such as, mother and teen less likely to finish school, more likely to rely on public assistance, more likely to live in poverty as adults, and more likely to have children who has poorer education, behavioral, and health outcomes throughout their lives rather than a child born into older parents that are prepared for a child.     Americans are affected everyday by unplanned pregnancies. “Every year 400,000 babies are born to girls younger than age 19” (Foreman 26). There is no arguing that the teen unplanned pregnancy rate is high and according to The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, the American rate is still the highest in the industrialized world. The argument comes with what approach should be taken to reduce that rate. Two major approaches are abstinence only education and a more comprehensive approach that is all-encompassing. Abstinence-only education is usually provided by school based curriculum and it sometimes begins as early as age 10. The main component of these programs are just what the title says, abstinence only. We can all agree that abstinence is the only 100% way to prevent pregnancy, but a comprehensive approach teaches youth the importance of responsible sexual behavior, the selection of appropriate birth control, and aids in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. Offering a multi-faceted approach, medically correct information, a birth control network, and disease prevention, the comprehensive approach to sex education has been proven to be the most effective way to reduce teen unplanned pregnancies.…
