Responsibility and Accountability
Responsibility and accountability go hand in hand in everyday life and situations that may occur. How would someone use responsibility and accountability in life? There are multiple ways you could use either of the two. Apart of growing and becoming a mature adult is learning responsibility as well as accountability.
If you fail to take responsibility for your actions or to be held accountable for something you may have done then you may never catch the full grasp of being a mature adult. To define responsibility it means to take responsibility to someone or for some action. Responsibility is something you learn as a minor. Being responsible is a learned behavior. It is not an accident and it requires patience as well as effort. For example, as a child you are taught to tell the truth. If you marked on the wall with a marker and you tell your parents that it was you and not someone else then you’ve taken responsibility for what you have done, you are held accountable for the marking on the wall.
If you don’t learn accountability I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to take responsibility for your actions. Accountability is normally viewed as being responsible, giving an explanation of your actions, to somebody for something. When you take 100 percent responsibility for holding yourself accountable, your performance will improve, your relationships will flourish, your value will soar, people’s respect for you will skyrocket, you will be a great example for others to follow, and your self-esteem will grow. You cannot achieve any professional or personal worthwhile goal if you don’t hold yourself accountable. Responsibility to me is acknowledging responsibility for actions and decisions made, accepting the consequences that may follow from them, and understanding that others around will be involved. Every day choices or decisions are made from experiences taught or from experiences learned. The only choices people want to be responsible for are the decisions

Gallozzi went on to say, “No, we are not responsible for all that happens to us, but we are responsible for how we think, feel and act when they happen” (Gallozzi, 2009, Para 1).…

I tell my son or daughter that education is the key to success in life, therefore; they must go through college to achieve a higher degree in something. Personal responsibility is the key to academic success because each individual is responsible first for their personal, professional and academic success. Each person must take responsibility for their academic success because it cannot be achieved by anyone else, and blame for failure cannot be passed on to others. I believe in being responsible as the true definition of being responsible is having an obligation to something or someone. In other words, if a parent asks me to babysit their child, then I become the one accountable for the child for everything the child does in the time limit I have them. Responsibility becomes a huge characteristic in one’s life only because the older you get, the more you become accountable for. When you’re a kid, you’re up for keeping your room picked up and brushing your teeth two times every single day. When you’re a teenager, you’re responsible for keeping up good grades in school and being safe on the roads when your first get your driver’s license.…

The definition of personal responsibility is, the state or fact of being responsible, answerable, or accountable for something within one’s power, control, or management (Collins English Dictionary). I believe that the more open a person is to taking responsibility for their actions the more they become trustworthy. Too many people depend on one another to just ignore the idea of taking responsibility for the actions they made. Personal responsibility has a great meaning to myself. My personal definition for personal responsibility includes everyday task of waking up on time to get ready for work to making sure that all of my classwork is completed, organized and properly done. Personal responsibility doesn’t just stretch out for a few moments and doesn’t only involve myself, it encompasses my whole life. I have been planning my wedding for next summer and constantly need to make sure that my fiancé and I are on the same page with ordering food and entertainment for the big day. Every single idea,…
