Respect and Natural Occurring Instinct

nythingNow that is a very distant word isn't it? or is it a word? Do people take respect as a word or more as an 'idea'? Respect is not an idea that must be taught nor must it be learned, but an idea that was given to us by he [whoever that might be] who has created us! Respect is a natural occurring instinct that is fading away as time passes through us. From the very first man to walk the earth to what is what we call society now, respect remains the same. I for one am not fond of this change at all. The difference of our point of view of respect and what people tens of thousands of years ago is obvious. Back then a man would challenge another and give fair opportunities to fight with no cheap shots, the surviving man would still respect the man for his valiant efforts and would offer proper burial. Today a man would take any opportunity he had to kill another, no fair fight at all, and when he did kill the man, he would let him rot and decay with the rats. A man back then will die with honor and for his country, while today a man will try to avoid death. Yes yes respect is the same because we still have people that die for the country they protect and those are called soldiers. Now even in America, have we lost respect for these men and women who gave their lives honorably. Why laugh and giggle when our national anthem plays? Why talk? Why make noises and try to be funny? Because our respect is fading! Ask yourself...does it make you feel good to be the attention star of the moment while you mock those who have died for this country, to protect the land in which we live on! Is that moment worth the mockery of thousands of lives? What has todays society become? Many people think they should be respected and do not have to show any respect at all. Has greed poisoned us that far? When you hear "respect your elders" does that give the elders an excuse to disrespect the youth? No. It does not. I'm tired of this one way stream of respect.
