A. THE SPEAKER
The main element of public speaking
He is seen as a person full of ideas, knowledge, and principles in life that in one way or another can inspire them in the challenges of life.

CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EFFECTIVE SPEAKER
1. GOOD VOICE QUALITY
Good voice quality/variety is a good tool to captivate audience’s attention especially when doing a narration.
2. KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT MATTER
The more and broader you know about the subject matter, the easier for you to discuss it with your audience
3. PROPER PRONUNCIATION
Observance of correct pronunciation establishes one’s credibility and at the same time help you convey the message clearly.
4. POSTURE
The way a speaker stands
5. POISE
The total carriage of the speaker

B. AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
How to address the audience should be the primary concern of every speaker

FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED IN ANALYZING THE AUDIENCE
1. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Knowing the educational background of the audience lets you determine the level of knowledge and understanding of the audience towards the topic
2. AGE
3. GENDER
4. CULTURAL and ETHNIC BACKGROUND

C. THE SPEECH
Should be as excellent as the delivery
PHYSICAL ASPECT OF THE SPEECH
1. CONCISE
Going around the bush, speaking over time definitely kill the enthusiasm of the audience
2. CLEAR and SIMPLE
The simpler the words, the clearer it is.
Clarity of speech can be gained by using correct word choice
Jargons are not completely prohibited but should be used with utmost care
Technical terms should be used to particular field
3. IT SHOULD bE CORRECT IN GRAMMAR The use of correct grammar in speech is also one way of establishing credibility
4. IT IS LOGICAL
Arrange points according to significance and follow it up with supporting materials to strengthen them.
D. OCCASION
FORMAL OCCASSIONS are attended with appropriate attire and manners
