4th of July Speech
7/11/2012
The fourth of July speech that I choose is Obama Speech. The speech was held in White House building. He was accompanied by Michelle Obama the first lady. They hosted a barbeque party in the white house lawn. While everybody gather in the lawn for the party, He is giving a speech for this Fourth of July in 2012. The topic of his speech is about military “Represent what is best in America”. He thanks military heroes in the Fourth of July celebration. He said that “You serve under our proud flag. You and your families sacrifice more than most of us can ever know all in defense of those God-given rights that were first put to paper 236 years ago: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,”. He is then welcome everybody there for the barbeque and off courses the fireworks. The content of the speech is light and doesn’t contain anything that hard to understand. Simply thanking and naming all the people who become heroes to America and then he invites all the people to enjoy the food and the fireworks. He delivers the speech very loud and clear. He has a very good eye contact, he is reading a note but he keeps maintaining the eye contact to all the people who is coming there. He also doesn’t seem nervous or anxious at all. He maintains the speed of his speech very well and he doesn’t lose his composure when people are giving him applause. The situation there seems really happy and casual. I can see Obama wearing a casual polo shirt and his wife using simple dress. All the people seems happy and enjoying the Fourth of July celebration. My conclusion about Obama speech is very good. It is important to keep calm and maintain your tone and speed when you are talking. The eye contact is very good, He only look briefly at the note and looking back to the audience very quickly. The speech is short and straight to the main point that he wants to thank all sacrifice that has been made by all people. He point

Some political analysts felt that the President’s speech was uneventful and even boring; however, the historical aspects combined with the tradition of the inauguration ceremony itself created such an extreme atmosphere of excitement that there was no way that President Obama’s speech could be considered in those terms. The population that comprised the audience did not travel to Washington, D.C. in the extreme cold solely to hear the newly elected President make his speech; they went to feel the energy and hope that this historical day produced. The venue alone carries so much history and tradition with it that it would be hard to hear anything there, let alone a legendary speech, and not be moved by…

He warmingly starts off by thanking some former presidents, “President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama....”, the American people especially, and everyone around the world for his election win. His voice is very direct and to the point when he states how he would approach the nation as a whole: “We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore it's promise for all of our people”. The formal tone allowed a flow through his speech that showed his thoughts clearly and straightforwardly. The short pauses created tension and a sense of understanding between President Trump and his audience. Much of his…

Obama starts his speech by addressing and accepting his nomination as the democratic presidential candidate. He refers to older presidents, who have walked in his shoes and then he talks personally about himself. Thus Obama opens his speech at home. After a short introduction of himself and the state of America he proceeds to talk about his opponent John McCain from the opposing party. He refers to everything bad about his politics and why he should not be elected. After bad mouthing McCain for a bit, he goes on to talk about what the Democrats, and he personally, can do for The United States. This is the longest part of the speech, and also the most important one, for it is here where he promotes himself and his party, and shows his political views. In the fourth part of the speech he moves away from home, he moves away from America and talks about Iraq, international politics and terrorism. This is also mandatory for any big political speech, because it is a big part of American politics, and it is a pull/push factor for many Americans and where they cast their votes. Finally Obama returns to America where he assures America that they will make it through the hard times, and also speaking a bit more lightly about his opponent McCain to make the previous bad mouthing feel less offensive at the end. The speech is very coherent, in that it he links the different part together with smooth transitions. For example when he stops talking about what John McCain can’t do, he proceeds by saying how he can.…

The State of Union Address took place on Jan. 24, 2012 and followed specific traditions. All Congress members both in the Senate and House of Representatives, Supreme Court Justices, Generals, and distinguished guests were at the Address. The Cabinet came before the President and greeted everyone on the isles. When President Obama was ready, he was announced to the Speaker of the House. He also shook and kissed the Congress women and shook hands with Congress men. The most touching moment was when he personally greeted Gabrielle Giffords, a gunshot survivor. This was Obama’s 3rd State of Union speech, and would be recorded as one of the longest speech, 65 minutes. Obama’s speech started and ended with the Iraq War and the assassination of Bin Laden. He begins by…

The Inauguration speech by President Donald Trump was clearly spoken and delivered with confidence. Right from the start the President offered appreciation to supporters and former presidents in attendance. He showed sincerity when thanking former President Obama and Michelle for the transition period. He spoke the truth, which I believe came from the heart when he delivered his speech about loyalty, restoring promises, solidarity, unity, patriotism, rebuilding our country and the process of making America great again. The President has defiantly earned my support when he spoke of God and how the Military and Law Enforcement will once again have the respect that they deserve. The President delivered…

In this speech he talks about equal rights, justice, and citizenship for blacks. He also tells the people that they come as one to celebrate the 4th of July. Furthermore, he reminds them that the nation is young and still needed for a positive change. He says “What, to the American slave, is your Fourth of July?” ("A quote by Frederick Douglass"). He was asked to do the speech because he was a good speaker and his words changed how people view the world. His speech impacted the world because he was an intelligent man and no one would expect that from a…

I think that basing this speech off of the United States Constitution helped express the main goal of his speech, which was to motivate Americans to strive for political and social unity. I believe that through writing about his own ancestors and his mixed racial background, Obama allowed Americans to view him as just another citizen and therefore appeal to their hearts. I also thought Obama made an impact on his audience by portraying himself as an extremely religious man through bible quotations and sermon references. All in all, I believe that Barack Obama delivered a beautiful speech that surrounds our country’s patriotism and religious spirit.…

He slows it down, lowers his volume, and pauses for impact. At other times he speeds up his pace and raises the volume of his voice to underscore a key sentence. His movement is very controlled. He smiles and has small but very controlled movement of his hands and facial jesters. When you are listen to Obama’s speech you get the feeling like you are sharing with an old wise friend. He has a way about him to disarm and relax the listener. He pulls from materials know too many as foundational to humanity, like the Bible or the Constitution. When all is said and done I find myself wanting to support his ideas on immigration despite the fact that he never gave any concert plans to attend to the problems we are facing in America over the concept of immigration. He only made me feel that if I didn’t support immigration that this was a sign that I was not acting American and that it was wrong. President Obama use of rhetoric techniques could almost convince me to be pro-immigration but the lack of detail and evidence to support a plan to receive people lead me to pull back and say I think there is more then what has just been said on the…
