In this world of high tech gaming, two consoles reign supreme; Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation 3. Both consoles put out amazing graphics and have awesome features. Only one of these consoles can be considered the best of best. The Playstation 3 is by far the superior console with its Blu-ray integration and amazing cell processor. The Xbox has a Xenon processor. The Xenon processor is used in most standard sever computers to maintain processes of that server. Xenon processors are only a step up from basic home computer processors. They provide good computing power, just not good enough. The Playstation 3 uses a state of the art cell processor. These processors pump out enormous amounts of computing power. Cell processors are used in other computers to maintain the unruly amount of information coming for massive multiplayer online games, such as World of Warcraft. The Playstation has far better computing capabilities than that of the Xbox. The Xbox uses out-dated HDDVD technology. These discs are only slightly larger than standard compact discs. These discs were discontinued on the video market 2 years ago after Toshiba announced its switch to Blu-ray. Also HDDVD can only hold up to 20 gigabytes of data, which is far less than that of a Blu-ray disc. The Playstation 3 supports Blu-ray disc technology.
