Ps2 vs Xbox vs Gamecube
Which system is better, Microsoft Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, or Sony PlayStation 2? Which system is the better buy? These are just some of the questions people ask themselves when it comes to purchasing one of these systems. In my opinion, I believe that the "best buy" is the PlayStation 2.

The PS2 offers a reasonably powerful processor, about 297MHz (Megahertz). It may seem a little bit on the sluggish side compared to the processor of Xbox, about 733MHz, and to the GameCube processor, about 485MHz. If you ask me, I think that 733MHz is a little much for a gaming console, it's just plain ridiculous. The PS2 has enough power to run high quality games. And with the planned decrease in cost for the PS2, you should be able to get one for lower than the normal price, $299, sometime in the near future. Microsoft cannot decrease their price for Xbox, $299, because they are already losing money selling systems, about $50 a system sold. So that tells you that the PS2 could match the price of GameCube, $199, before long.

The Sony PlayStation 2 uses 8MB (Megabyte) memory cards to save games. Depending on how much space a game save takes up, you could have about 20 game saves. The Xbox comes equipped with an 8GB (Gigabyte) hard drive for saving games and saving music from audio CD's. With 8GB you could probably have up to 20,000 saves, but no way in a life time could you ever fill it up with saves. But the music, you could fit up to 80 songs on the hard drive with no saves. The GameCube uses 500kb (kilobyte, ½MB) Digicards, that's practically nothing compared to PS2. Sony has a 10 or 15GB hard drive planned to come out during June of 2002.

Both PlayStation 2 and Xbox have the capability to play DVD's, but with Xbox, there's a catch. You need to purchase a $30 DVD Playback Kit. With PS2, you can watch DVD's right after you hook it up, without any extra purchases. GameCube cannot play DVD's, and probably never will, although Nintendo is developing a

Ever since the dawn of the first Xbox, also known as “the original xbox”, console gamers have been arguing with each other as to whose console is truly supreme. All while those who play PC games have hidden in their respective corner, Xbox fanboys and PlayStation geeks have been at a non-stop battle; attempting to prove that their consoles are superior. In the recent installment of the console wars, Xbox One players argue that they take the lead in the battle due to the Xbox having backwards compatibility. Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 (PS4) players argue that they are in the lead because of the vast amount of prestigious exclusive games their console has. Despite the rugged good looks of the two systems, the gamer community is not only worried…

Console gaming has certainly made a huge jump in what it used to be. I can remember the 4 bit days, where Atari's sold out stores. Now you buy a game, and it looks so real, it is like you are actually there. Many people like the controller a console has to offer, or whether they don't feel like spending the time or money using a computer, as they are far more complex.…

Apart from being so old that it’s primarily just a source of nostalgia these days, the Nintendo 64 is still amazing. It was really revolutionary in its time, and still influences games to this day. The Nintendo 64 was actually originally intended to be called the Ultra 64. Due to the fact that Nintendo wanted to keep the line of game systems titles continuous from the Nintendo Entertainment System, and then the ‘Super’ Nintendo Entertainment System, Ultra would have been next. They decided against this in the end, however, and settled for Nintendo. The 64 part came from the fact that this was the first system to use a 64 bit gaming system. While everybody accepts this fact, it was debated over by Atari, who claimed that their Jaguar system used 64 bit programming. While it did have some 64 bit programming, it was only in certain aspects of the game and not available game. In comparison, the current X-box 360’s have 128 bits. So the Nintendo 64 has half of the bits that the most advanced gaming systems today have. To account for the huge difference in the qualities of these systems, the difference is the graphics processing power. The Nintendo 64 runs at 62.5 mhz., while the X-box 360 runs at 500 mhz. So running the Nintendo 64 at 500 mhz. would have graphics half as good as any current gaming system. Considering that the Nintendo 64 was made in 1996 and the 360 was made in 2005, this proves how innovative and advanced the Nintendo 64 really was and is.…

Some time ago, I wrote a guide on how to run PlayStation 2 games on your computer using a console emulator. This time, I'm planning a tutorial un how to emulate GameCube games (PS2 rival) at decent speeds on your computer. This emulator is rumored to also play Nintendo Wii games, but I'll make an update regarding that rumor as soon as I can confirm it. Now, for those of you that don't know exactly what the GameCube is, you should know that the GC is a sixth generation console and direct competitor of the PlayStation 2. Titles such as Resident Evil Zero or Resident Evil 1 remake made the GameCube a sought after console by gamers around the world. In these next few lines, I will be teaching you how to configure your emulator so that you'll be playing lots of GameCube games on your computer in no time. First of all, download the latest x86 version of the game. After downloading it, extract the emulator (it usually comes inside a .rar or .zip archive) into a folder of your choice. WARNING: after hours of attempts, only the x86 version allowed me to play GC games. The x64 version was slower and presented serious graphical artifacts. So, even if you have x64 Windows or just an x64 processor, go for the x86 version. After extracting the emulator, it's time to start configuring it (you'll notice it's much simpler than the PCSX2). First of all, enter the folder in which you extracted the Dolphin Emulator and double click the DolphinIL.exe file. The normal Dolphin.exe offers a lot less speed and compatibility. The main window of the Emulator has appeared. From the OPTIONS tab, choose CONFIGURE. There, you will only have to make sure you've ticked the Enable Dual Core, all the Advanced settings, the Use Panic Handlers option and setting Hide Cursor on Auto . You will find all these in the GENERAL tab. Going back to the OPTIONS tab, you…

    Wii Console

    1. The demand for Wii console will be relative elastic. As from the passage, it mention that “Nintendo announced its first price drops for the console. In Japan, the price dropped from ¥25,000 to ¥20,000 and they sold more than three million Wii consoles also ending 9 months of declining sales”. This shows that that demand for Wii console is elastic as people responded to the price drop and thus they demanded more which also help Wii console to earn back their losses. Also another reason that demand is relatively elastic is that substitution is possible. Substitute such as Microsoft and Sony also produce console, so people will still compare them with Wii console because some is sensitive to the prices, thus some will still buy from Microsoft or Sony because it is cheaper and some of the function is same as Wii, thus demand is relative elastic.…

Blu-ray’s storage capacity is enough to store a continuous backup copy of most people’s hard drives on a single disc.
