1.1 - Explain the purpose and benefits of continuously improving own performance in a business environment
The purpose of continually improving your own performance is to ensure you are always striving for the highest quality possible, always looking for that bit and trying to push the boundaries. The benefits are that it encourages innovation and the trait of never being content with where you at. It pushes you to think of areas for you develop and gain more skills. Continuous improvement can only be good for both yourself and the business.
- Explain the purpose and value of encouraging and accepting feedback from others
This is a key area in terms of development. Actively seeking feedback from your colleagues and superiors will give you the ability to identify the areas you can improve and develop on. They will pick up on things you cannot see and have more experience identifying areas on which you need to improve on to be successful in business. It is important that you accept the feedback and find ways to incorporate it into your ways of working.
- Describe ways of evaluating own work
After every event or program or action you take, you should always reflect on your work to see what you can do better next time. Think about these questions:
