Professionalism
A professional teacher should have qualities. As a professional, a teacher needs to be confident without being arrogant about it. Each and every single teacher we to school and knows what they are doing but Nobody can expect to have all the answers. Even before we get in to details of the professional teacher should posses, we should talk about how a teacher is professional towards others, such as students, parents, other teacher and co-worker and also administrators. A professional teacher should be seen as a professional. She or he should dress appropriately and have a great personal hygiene. As a professional teacher, you owe it to your students to provide a safe and secure learning environment for them. One should listens to his or her student for feedback and concerns. Have the ability to inspire them especially young student and also have a genuine care for the students’ well being. To parents, such teacher should demonstrate knowledge of the subject thought. Parents are very particular whom they leave their kids with and that is part of being a parent. Also they should be effective communicators and also have respect for the parents. There needs to be a mutual respect between parents and teacher because the child’s success depends on it. Proper preparation is another crucial requirement of professionalism. When the teacher enters the classroom s/he should have all the required materials and the lesson plan ready. Teaching is hands on and at the end of the day, your colleagues and coworker are only there to help and be a third eye. There is a way teachers communicate and learn from each other. So as a professional teaches you be polite to them. They might be that helping hand you need when it comes to difficult situations. You should also respect them and they should be able to trust you. As a professional teacher you should be dependable and reliable. This helps when you have personal things going on they could help and be there for you. Teachers need teachers. A school is a learning community and as a teacher you should be open-minded because it is all not in a textbook. You learn from your peers and vise visor. As a professional teacher, you are to be effectively cooperate with administrators, there needs to be a mutual respect and effective communication. As a professional, understand the administrators that they are doing just as important of a job as that of yours. Administrators are great resource to have as a teacher, acknowledge your appreciation. Be patient with them because they are doing their best. Learn to express yourself professionally without discussing it with other teachers, also administrators are important aspect of the students’ learning, respect that and accept a helping hand.
