International sporting occasions are very well participated by a lot of countries or nationalities around the world. One of these very popular events is called “The Fifa World Cup”. This special occasion is held every four years in a hosting country that won the bidding to qualify to host the special event. And the event will be participated by 36 final nations that qualify and this is played for over a month usually from the early week of June until the middle of July. The latest world cup was held last 2010 in the hosting country of South Africa and Spain won the championship against Germany for 1-0. These kinds of events will help participants understand the culture and tradition of their opponent. Others believed that international tensions among countries are eased. I agree to this argumentation that international tensions among nations will be minimized in participation of international sporting occasions. Like for example, the participation of North Korea in the World Cup. They did not win but the main point that they were invited was that they have a chance to know the character or cultures and traditions of their opponent. North Koreans are known to be very patriotic. Their participation in the World Cup helped them release their patriotic emotions in a safe way instead releasing it to nuclear war. It will make them be aware that respect will always be observed towards other nations. Another important point is that it will help or ease racism. One best example to this is the European Cups. A lot of popular clubs have been observed for racism. It has been reported that racism among popular football clubs were observed. It is because; club members came from different nationalities.
