Plastic Surgery For years people have tried to improve their look and appearance. In the past they wanted to look beautiful naturally, but the beauty was limited only to the use of makeup. Nowadays everything has changed. As science has advanced, some people have started resort to surgeries to make themselves look better. Plastic surgery has become more popular than ever, not only for adults; it has increased as well dramatically in popularity among the teenagers. Despite the large turnout of people on cosmetic surgeries, plastic surgery just like other surgeries, could have side effects, both positive effects or negative.
There are many reasons that have led the teenagers choose plastic surgery, some because they want to improve their appearance, while others think that the plastic surgery would increase their self-esteem, another reason would be the cruel remarks that sometimes drives a teenager to take surgical action; for example, a person may blurt out to a friend, "Gee, did you see that kid 's nose?" (“Teens and Plastic Surgery”).
To improve someone appearance, increase self-esteem, and correct part of the body because of some physical defect all these reasons seem to have a positive reflection on the patients after having their surgery, which is something good.
According to a new report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 14.6 million cosmetic plastic surgery procedures were performed in the United States in 2012 (“Statistics Released on America 's Top Plastic Surgery Choices”). The studies recently have shown that the people who had surgery appeared satisfaction about their plastic surgery. On the other hand, the results are mixed on whether plastic surgery boosts their self-esteem, quality of life, self-confidence and interpersonal relationships in the long term or not (Dittmann).
Unfortunately, many people don’t realize that there can also be negative effects to the plastic surgery, such as emotional issues, cost, and risks. The side
