Pet Peeve

An irritating experience caused by others in which one cannot control

Speaking for myself I have a very controlling issue that I am still working on until this day, so anything that is beyond my control irritates me highly.

My advice is never go into any relationship lying about yourself. Always give the other person the option of deciding rather if they want to know you for you.

Some people will say they’re pet peeve is hearing others smack while chewing food, others will say something like they’re pet peeve is the way someone else dresses without a theme. I say my pet peeve is someone taking away my options.

What I mean by taking away my options is please don’t lie to me. Give me a chance to decide rather if I want to deal with you and the baggage that comes alone with you.

I had a situation where this guy came into my life at a vulnerable time, keep in mind I just broke up with an ex of mine for cheating. So I explained to this guy ahead of time that I don’t like sharing so I don’t like married men. The guy told me he’s been divorced for 6 months at the time.

Not giving it a second thought to go and investigate the situation. I believed this guy. The guy and I actually became really close friends and 4 years later I have a drink with his mom at this comedy club and his mom drunkenly told me he’s still battling with his wife because she wouldn’t release his divorce papers. Although the guy was in fact really separated because he and his wife were in separate homes. I felt like he seen the opportunity to take advantage.

I was irritated because he took my options away. Instead of the approach with him saying “I’m separated and working on my divorce”. He gave me “I’ve been divorced for 6 months now”.

He didn’t give me a chance to decide rather if I wanted to deal with a separated situation, or continue to live my life without getting to know him for who he is.

Once again I say never go into any relationship lying about yourself. Always give the other person the option of deciding rather if they want to know you for you.

Isn’t it annoying when someone is trying to go to his or her locker before and after class, but could not because couples are making out in front the lockers? It is also annoying when people are holding hands and walking really slow and students who are trying to get somewhere are unable to do so. Public Display of Affection, a.k.a PDA, has always been controvercial. In fact, many are against it and believe there should be limits on PDA. Moreover, public display of affection can be expressed in any forms. PDA can range from holding hands to hugging and to even more inappropriate actions such as full making-out session and touching innappropriate places. As a matter fact, PDA is inappropriate and should be kept out of school. But students should also have his or her freedom of expression.…

People that chew with their mouths open are people repellents. Nobody wants to be friends with the person chomping away at their meal. For as long as I can remember I've known at least one person I wanted to smack across the face because of their poor eating skills. Chewing with your mouth open also makes you look like you belong in a barn with animals.…

My second example to my biggest pet peeve, are dogs barking while I am trying to concentrate on my homework. I mostly do my homework early in the mornings, that’s when my dog barks with other dogs. As I have said before, the smallest noise can prevent me from concentration. Every time my dog barks I have to get up, open the door to my backyard, and tell him to be quite. Every time I have to get up I lose time on doing my homework.…

His and Her divorces are both mentally stressful results. In “His” divorce, the man feels worried about the relationship change between him and his children. The father feels that he might not have enough contact with them throughout their youth. Considering the male gender role, divorced men might also feel they have no one to find comfort in because they would tend not to share their emotional problems with male friends.…

“Individual grievances and pet peeves have got to go by the wayside. Generally, you don't have to worry about the guys who are playing every day; it's the guys who are sitting on the bench that are the ones that get needles in their pants.”--Walt Alston. A pet peeve an opportunity for complaint that is seldom missed; coming into my first semester of college I was uncertain o what to expect from my professors and my classmates. I really didn’t know what kind of professor I’d prefer but I knew what type I didn’t want. I also didn’t want to be late to any classes, or have any missing assignments.…
