It was just a day like any other. Students go to school, adults go to work, but that was not the case for Michael.He was found dead at 11.39 a.m at the hostel of the University of Georgia with a blade in hand and a note that said, “I couldn’t take it. They were so mean to me online. All those comments, hate messages… Is it my fault that I happen to find members of the same sex attractive? I don’t belong to this world anymore. I’m sorry.” Michael Connolly was the top student of his cohort. He was only 20 years old before he put an end to his life. When I read this piece of news, I find it sad and feel sympathetic for Michael. Why must he end his life this way? How will you feel when you see your friend ending their lives just because they cannot handle the stress and the judgement that people have made without thinking? As the Cyber Wellness Representative of Class 3E6, I, Alexandra Udinov, although I cannot stop cyberbullying on my own, but I want to raise awareness on this issue and help prevent it. And by preventing it, I want to share to the people, which is all of you about cyber-bullying and what we can do to put a stop to it.

As inhabitants of the 21st century,we are,with no doubt bound to social networking sites. Despite their growing importance and influences in our everyday lives, there is a dark side to social networking sites too; cyber-bullying.The story I cited before is only one of the millions of stories out there about this uprising issue. You cannot entirely stop cyberbullying,but what you can do is to avoid yourself from being cyber-bullied, be sensitive to others online, or help a friend who is being cyber-bullied.

One thing students can do to avoid being cyber-bullied is to take simple precautions such as keeping our social networking sites settings private. As a result, things that you post will only be viewed by you and your friends whom you should have met and are close to in reality. If your social networking sites are

    We see many cases on television where innocent young kids take their life due to bullying. Cyber bullying is something that is seen a lot in America.
