Best and Worst Presidencies Essay (50 points)
Select the best and worst presidencies from the time period we cover in the course (1400-1877). You are to write a persuasive essay providing at least three reasons for your conclusion about each of these two presidencies. You may use these guidelines as you write your essay.

Desired format is to write your introduction, three supporting reasons for one president, three supporting reasons for another president, conclusion. In essense, this is two separate research essays with a common introduction and conclusion.
Economic policies and the results from these.
Philosophy of government.
Foreign affairs during the presidency.
How particular policies may have led to future problems or successes.
Ethical issues.

The introduction and thesis was supported by at least three well-developed ideas/events for each president along with a sound conclusion. Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. (20 points).

1200+ words in length (10 points)
Double spaced (2 points)
Use at least three sources including one book (e-books and encyclopedia entries are OK), and two primary sources. (9 points)
