Personal Narrative: The AA Arena
As I walked closer to the entrance, my heart began pounding harder and harder. I could feel the sweat in my hands, as the time closer. Walking into the first room, I was grabbing my dad’s hand. I could feel my hands sweating almost like Niagara Falls. I tried to keep my eyes closed, but it would just make it worst. I slowly began to open them, and the creepy actors were everywhere. They yelled, and ran, all over the place. My fear just got worst.

Walking into the gym my smile grows larger every time. Smelling the chalk, I remember how far I’ve gotten and it brings me excitement every time. The sense of accomplishment I get as I walk in is surreal. I feel relaxed, calm, its everything I could ask for. The gym is really my happy place.

There is nothing more chaotic then the Miami Heat arena. In between the yelling, and singing my ears begin to burst. When the opposite team scores, the people yell to boo! When Miami Heat scores, the people go wild. When the game is done, it is time to go home. Walking down the stairs, people chanting and bumping in to you everywhere you go. The AA Arena is the true definition of chaotic.

We ask ourselves every day. I believe the ideal paradise is the beach. Waking up at 9:30am to jump on your yacht and hit the ocean. Your captain is great, making the atmosphere homey. Your chef does anything you ask. As you get closer to around 11:00am it is shark feeding time. They take you to where nerf sharks and sting rays are to swim around (it is completely safe). As the day continues you go snorkeling with manatees, seahorses, and of course swimming with the dolphins. When it’s time to go, you will ride back just looking at the clear sea. Forgetting about all your problems, and just enjoying. You are relaxed, and simply living in

Now this is where I`m supposed to write “all about me”. This is where I become lost. I mean, come on. I wouldn`t know where to start. But I guess the best way to have an idea what makes me tick and what ticks me off is by checking my journal that i fill with endless ramblings about whatever and whoever catches my fleeting fancy or rage. :)…

Learning from mistakes is a key part of life. I myself have had to learn from my mistakes. Over the summer I cut my foot outside. I spent the whole night in the worst hospital, then I got 18 stitches in the bottom of my foot. It also set back my ability to play football. My mistake was going outside without shoes, now I wear my shoes all the time.…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

Walking into the locker room about to get ready to go to our last football game of the season. I could smell the sweaty equipment from the kids who never take their pads home. The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

Hello everyone, I went to my first NA/ AA meeting tonight and could not wait to discuss the outcome. The main thing I found interesting is many people was in recovery for years. At least 10 people was clean over 5 years, but continue to attend meetings as part of their recovery process or to maintain clean. Also, many people became addicted to drugs due pain management. Speaking about knee pain, back pain, several people was in car accidents or hurt at work. Regular pain medication was not working and they wanted something stronger that turns into an addiction. Or they did not want to feel severe pain and kept taking pain medicine to prevent being in pain. Then emotional pain was also a discussion, causing people to abuse alcohol and drugs…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

When the seventh grade year started, I was very worried ,but now that I have been here awhile the worries have faded away. I had many worries about seventh grade like getting lost or getting overwhelmed by stacks of homework. Over the summer I didn’t worry too much about the new school year. I had sports to take my mind off of what school was going to be like. Luckily I got into classes with all of my friends and my teachers are great. I thought that making friends was going to be hard but I play sports so people already knew me. I was also worried about being at a new school, but even though the school looks huge it’s pretty easy to get around. Even though I had many worries about the new school they have all gone away.…
