Written Proposal for Print Advert

Initial Idea For this project, at first, I had 3 initial ideas. The first one was to create a poster, advertising make up. The theme was “Photo Print Add for an Every Day Item”. I chose this, because I carry my make up with me every day. My initial idea is to take a picture of a girl, wearing the certain make up. It is going to be mascara, eye shadows or lipstick. The picture is going to be effective and with a good use of light. If it is a mascara advert, I might take a picture just of the eyes. For the lipstick, I am thinking of taking picture of the lips, with the lipstick, and the nails of the girl, painted in the same colour as the lipstick is. Also I have an idea to photograph the girls face, with a really strong make up, which is going to look really good on her. The other two were for the slogan “Sleep. It’s what you need.”. First I was thinking of taking picture of a little child, about 8-9 years old, sleeping in its bed. It was going to be hugging its teddy bear and looks really cute. Then I was thinking of showing children, playing outside, looking happy and full of energy, because they’ve had their sleep the night before. The second idea I had for this slogan was a picture of a woman, sitting on her desk and working really hard. There were going to be many books and document sheets on the desk. Then I was going to show a picture of her at work. She was going to look existed and not able to do any proper work. So I have made 3 mood boards to help me decide which idea to choose. Finally I decided to create a poster, advertising mascara. It is going to be the “Maybelline the Rocket Volum Express”. I am going to take a picture of a girl’s face wearing the mascara. She is going to wear a lot of make up, so that her eyes can look big and beautiful. Then I am going to edit the picture in Photoshop. I am going to make her eyelashes look longer and thick. Then I am going to put a picture of the product, next

Use soft natural colors on eyes, cheeks, and lips. Browns, pinks and neutral are all appropriate choices. We do require that you wear mascara and lipstick or gloss. Remember, you never know when there will be a camera in your face. Do not clump your eyelashes with mascara. One to two coats of most mascara is more than enough. Wear lipstick or gloss, making sure to refresh the application throughout the day as needed. Wear a light blush for day and deepen the color for evening. Be sure to blend all makeup. When applied, makeup shouldn't appear as if you are wearing a mask. Orange faces and necks that appear to be a different color are not…

This interview with Thalia Zuniga compose of ideas of how makeup is expressive of a person’s individuality, how makeup is introduced, its relations with insecurities, and if it is considered an artistic form. In addition, she comments that makeup is a perfect way to express yourself differently, she believes that it helps boost a person’s confidence, and she argues that makeup is composed of a mixture of a lack of confidence and an artistic talent. The overall point of Ms. Zuniga is that makeup is both an art and a cover up of insecurities and that it is a confidence booster. Nevertheless, Ms. Zuniga provides a strong belief of makeup being both an art and a lack of confidence and the thought of it being an expressive act of showing the world…

    Why Women Wear Makeup

    • 785 Words
    • 4 Pages

Women find ways to express themselves with makeup, using creative ideas to enhance their features or even to hide some features that aren’t particularly appealing. Some of the basic reasons are to gain self-confidence and, for very young women, to appear older. Women often feel that they look very plain and unattractive without makeup or accessories. Some women feel that extensive makeup treatments are necessary to get them to a state in which they can appear in public. They may do something as simple as highlighting one or two areas, such as they eyes and eyebrows. They may use several steps in the makeup process, including a base, powder, cheek color or blush and lipstick to draw attention to the mouth. Many young women use makeup to achieve an older appearance, while older women use certain makeup methods to help them appear younger. Lines and wrinkles can be hidden temporarily with the correct application of certain types of makeup. Blemishes can be easily hidden with the help of foundation.…

In this picture, I decided to do a self-portrait because my artist, Dora Maar, is into photography. The message behind it is how media and things I see on my phone and computer affect how I feel I should look and what I do so I can look a certain way. That media tells me and girls to wear makeup and do our hair. That is what makes us beautiful. This relates to Dora Maar's influences (the feelings of the interwar people and surrealism) because Dora Maar tried to capture the how people were feeling in the interwar because of new system and ideas. period and I tried to capture how girls, especially teenage girls, are feeling now because of new media. We are both trying to capture a general theme/feeling of our generation caused by the new thing.…

By simply using Instagram and Facebook’s feature of sharing posts on their platforms to Twitter and using hashtags, they can reach consumers who prefer the Twitter platform with the same content as those on the others. However, the most well equipped platform for FACE is Instagram, and they should turn to it to gain more of a following. Since the beauty and skincare market are filled with visual concepts, Instagram’s video, carousel, and story ad features are great ways to engage current and potential clients. Video ads can be a maximum of 60 seconds; carousel ads are rotating pictures or videos that come in a package which people can scroll through; story ads are “Snapchat video-esque” and are displayed at the top of people’s feeds. FACE should use all three features. On Instagram, FACE could showcase several clients’ brow tint or lash lift makeovers in a sped-up video advertisement, post before and after photos of a client’s lash tint, and run carousel advertisements chronicling a client’s microblading experience. The promotional features on Instagram cost between $0.50 and $1.00 per click, or roughly $6.00 per 1000 impressions (Giustino). Ultimately, FACE needs to use Instagram to demonstrate their services and encourage customers to come in for the chance at having their FACE experience, and a link to their account as to gain followers (should they choose), shared across their social media platforms. With the help of promotional programs, FACE could gain instant exposure to hundreds or even thousands of potential clients on…

First, you will select two visual texts. Visual texts can include photographs (documentary, news), print and online ads, ad parodies, and billboards. You will need to provide quality, color copies of the texts as part of your project (they can be inserted into the word document). Remember that you will be comparing and contrasting your texts, so texts that are too similar or too dissimilar won’t work. It may help you to look for two texts that represent two different view points on a single issue. Visual texts must be approved by instructor. When you select your texts, make sure that you can tell me where they came from—don’t lose the website address if you get them online! You will have to be able to cite your source. The analysis of some texts may also require a discussion of their context: for instance, an unusual ad may be speaking to a particular audience, so the essay will have to describe which magazine the ad originally appeared in. An image from a news source will have to be discussed in the context of the article in which the image appears. It is therefore best if you NOT simply use an ad that appears in an online collection of advertisements. The best way to find an advertisement is to search through a physical magazine (you will need to scan the image to insert it in your document); the best way to find different news images on the same subject is to search for the topic through Google image search. Keep track of the sources of your images.…

As the old saying goes, “Reading is not generating the same result as seeing.” You can see from the meaning that we value seeing more than reading in terms of communication. The three most important elements in all forms of communication are sender, message and receiver. (Marie Gillespie and Jason Toynbee, 2006) Messages can be sent in several ways. Texts and images are two efficient ways of being sent. However, no one can deny the fact that, these days, we seem to pay more attention to images than texts due to a variety of reasons such as occasions and meaning. According to The Media Education Lab website of the University of Rhode Island (2012) mention that the difference between text and image is the level of representation, which People process text as narration while image as reality. Through enlargement of visual media, advertising company began to use images to communicate with audiences. An image can simultaneously provide several meanings. However, an image that is composed of many elements can sometimes cause more of an ambiguity resulting in the loss of the message of the image is. From the discussion below, the two cases of study will be given to demonstrate some examples of Images using in the advertising industry.…
