Rolling process is one of different types which include flat rolling, foil rolling, ring rolling, roll bending, roll forming, and profile rolling, etc. Flat rolling is a process in which a material having a rectangular cross section is fed between the rollers which results in metal sheets. Float rolling process is used for producing foils. In this process, rolling is done by cluster mill because small thickness requires a small diameter rolls. Ring rolling process is a special type of process that increases the diameter of the ring. Roll bending process produces cylindrical shaped…

The benefits of Air Foil Bearings over traditional bearings has driven recent developments in the technology as their use was initially limited to small, low load high speed machines [3]. Benefits include low power consumption, lubricant free operation, long maintenance free life and the ability to withstand very high temperatures and high levels of vibration. They are however limited to a certain number of start/stops determined by the type of bearing and the amount of static load they are carrying due to rubbing during run up and run down.…

Vegetable oil and fat resources are indispensable to mankind as a source of nutrient and industrial raw materials. Crude vegetable oil obtained from various oil milling units is further refined before use for edible purposes. Refined edible oil is a process where free fatty acids are volatized, condensed and recovered simultaneously with vacuum de-colouring operation. Sometimes, refining process is limited to simple physical treatment such as heating and filtering in regard to refining of superior quality of crude oil. Generally the cake in the oil is separated by centrifuge, decolouring by active clay and steam deodorization at high temperature in vacuum up to 5 mm. Hg. 1.2 Objective…
