Owning Pet

Owning a pet and not owning a pet
The life style of being a pet owner is very different from the life style of a non pet owner. Both situations have their advantages and there disadvantages. Owning a pet can be very frustrating sometimes but not owning a pet can be rather lonely sometimes too. There are so many differences having a pet and not having a pet. Growing up I’ve always at least had one pet in my life. Most of my pets have been cats. Owning pet is a great experience. I love learning new thing about my pets. Like what type of food they like to eat and what food they don’t like. Also how they sleep and when they sleep. Having a pet is a great way to learn about animals. Pets can also help children learn responsibility. Such as walking their pet, feeding their pet, and cleaning their pet’s area. Pets are great companions; I love the feeling of coming home and my cats waiting for me at the door, it makes me feel like I’m loved. Some pets are great to exercise with. They can make you laugh like when they do little silly things like getting stuck in a blank. You get so use to having them around they become part of the family. When you’re feeling down just having your pet there can make you feel better. Sometimes your pet knows things before you do. Like if it’s going to rain. Even though I love owning a pet, there are times I wish I didn’t have one. This can also be the benefits of not having a pet. There are lots of things you don’t have to worry about when you don’t have a pet. Like when you go out of town you don’t have to find a place for your pet stay. Pet accidents you never have to worry about. If you have a new born baby you don’t have worry about keeping your pet away from the baby. If you friends that are allergic you don’t have to put away a pet or clean up any pet hair. Sometimes pet owner’s home’s can spell because of their pet. But if you don’t have a pet you don’t have to worry about that. You’ll never have to worry about scratched

Purdue University states that “The Human-Animal bond is the dynamic relationship between people and animals in that each influences the psychological or physiological state of the other” (“Center”). The Human-Animal bond is essential to the well-being of society. Animals can affect people in many different ways, specifically by providing companionship. This bond has existed for thousands of years, though people’s relationship with animals is much different today than it was in the past. The main reason that the relationship has changed is the concept of owning pets, which is relatively new (Reinisch). The concept of pet ownership has changed the way people see animals because instead of thinking of animals as…

Have you ever wondered why we own pets? According to Freud, animals are unaffected by the corruption and suffering caused by society, and, because of this, are desirable companions for humans. Freud hints towards the idea that animal’s companionship helps us relieve stress, gives us comforting attention, and also gives us something to care for, thus leading us to feel unconditional love. In my essay, I will first introduce the common ideas regarding why we own animals and the benefits of having them. Then I will discuss Freud’s analysis of pets through Civilization and Its Discontents and also through his own experiences with his dogs. Lastly, I will explain the effects of pets on human mental health, and conclude with the discussion of animal…

Many people enjoy the company of a pet, whether it be a cat or a dog; these animals provide a person with companionship and affection. Pet owners become emotionally invested in their pets and treat them as if they are part of the family. Some pet owners will pamper and shower these animals with affection as well as let them have the run of the house. However, a person needs to remember animals do not function as humans or have the capacity to reason. There are people who believe wild or exotic animals can be domesticated as well as become family pets. When taking care of pets such as a lion or primate these animals require more attention and owner responsibility. There are many states within the United States that have laws banning the ownership of wild animals. However, people are still purchasing exotic animals as pets through the black market. Local communities should not allow residents to own wild animals as companions or breed exotic animals for profit because of the domestic environment, health hazards, as well as the additional financial and social responsibilities associated with owning such pets.…

Owning a pet is difficult work, almost any pet owner you ask can attest to that, but as hard as it may be, it can be equally as rewarding. When I was younger, I was required to take care of my three dogs by feeding them every night during the school year as well as in the morning during the summer. On top of feeding them I also had to take them on runs, make sure they had enough water, received haircuts during the hot parts of the summer, and were free of ticks and other pests throughout the year. I used to complain about this to my parents constantly, but after a few years it became routine and the work was no longer a pain. In fact, I would start to realize that I found comfort in these things. It was a time that I could take to get outside and enjoy the beauty and fun in nature instead of filling my time with material things like TV and videogames that were often prevalent in my daily activities. I would also get to spend time with Cody just playing fetch or petting her thick, black coat of hair. She became a comfort to me and I knew that if I ever was having a bad day, she would always be willing to sit with me and listen to me…
