As a member in the group, it is important to give feedbacks to others which will increase the effectiveness within the teamwork. What the article tells me is that how to improve the word choice for feedbacks in order to avoid the negative consequences. By using the descriptive words instead of evaluative ones, useless anger toward others can be avoided. For instance, by point out the problems one have in doing certain task is much better than categorize the person. Furthermore, it is important to describe the feedbacks specifically to be useful that other members of the group can fully understand. Besides, we should take consideration of the receivers’ needs when we provide feedbacks. By eliminating the useless part of the feedback, we are able to avoid needless conflicts with other members. The efficiency of the work increase subsequently. We also gain trust by pointing out the important information that the receivers need. Plus, we need to be aware whether the recipient is ready to receive the feedback. By knowing when and where to give the feedback helps the group members to get along well. After all, we need to find a way to help others by providing feedbacks and causing no arguments at the same time. In such case, it is crucial to be patient. It is always fine to ask others for whether or not he or she wants to get feedbacks. To my own experiences, everyone is willing to hear back from others. I think for the next group meeting, I will ask before I actually provide feedbacks. In our previous meeting, it feels like interrupting when I tried to give feedbacks timely. However, I can feel that sometimes the receiver was not ready. Also, I think I will pay much more attention on word choice as sometimes I use some inappropriate words for the feedbacks. In all, our group works well and everybody in the group is responsible. I believe we will complete the work successfully in the end.…
