The subject about the original creation of the earth has been argued for a couple centuries. There are many theories and beliefs that contradict each other on creation. The purpose of this article is to discuss and compare the difference between the old-earth and the young-earth theories and there different viewpoints. The old-earth is based on a secular and Christian view and the young-earth is based on a Christian view built on the Bible in Genesis. Young-earth was the main belief until the late 1700’s when French scientists concluded that the world begin from …show more content…
In this book of the Bible it states “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in their entire vast array” (Genesis 1:34, 2:1). Young-earth creationists base their beliefs on Genesis, by reading the context in a literal manner. Many old earth creationists admit to having a personal relationship with Jesus, but they believe God should be left out of …show more content…
The purpose of my writings was to compare and contrast between the two beliefs and how they conclude to what is true or not. Old-earth follows both Christian views and secular views and young-earth believes in what the Bible tells us is true. Many Christians believe in old-earth and do not think that God has the power to create the earth in just 6 days. The prophet Hosea tells us God’s teachings saying “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). My personal opinion is that God did create the world in 6 days only a few thousand years ago. Although it is more logical to believe in old-earth and that it took God a long period of time to create the earth. It takes away from His glory and power. Whether you believe in old-earth or young-earth there is one thing correct, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Geneses
