Chapter Ten

Being woken up against my will is already annoying enough, but when it's someone you don't particularly like at an obnoxiously early time in the morning with a pounding headache and only a vague memory of a weird dream, it makes for quite the attitude.

"Ugh, just wake up already! I don't even know why I'm doing this anymore."

"You're doing it to get back on Justin's good side Susan, we can all tell."

"Shut up. Did I ask you?"

"No, and I'm glad you didn't."

No matter how annoying their arguing was, I was determined to go back to sleep. Whatever that weird dream was about that baby kept me tossing and turning all night and I needed at least some sleep.

"WAKE UP LOSER!"

Susan had resorted to shaking me awake, which

But you with Miss Queen Bee Pansy over there, that was awesome."

She just shook her head. "Miss Queen Bee couldn't even touch me. She's too scared that I'll beat her up. She insulted me on the train here, so I insulted her image by making her walk out of my compartment like she'd seen a ghost," as she reminisced her memory, a smirk appeared on her lips and I knew she was definitely not one to mess with, but that she'd definitely be a good friend of mine.

"Yeah, I'm sure Draco's goons aren't too fond of me either. I miraculously charmed one of them with a spell my brother taught me. Came in handy," I told her.

"Oh, I bet. How did you even know Pansy liked Draco?"

"Since she's been annoying me quite a lot lately, I figured why not do some digging with all of the extra time I had on my hands," I joked. Addison was quite the personality, and it was refreshing to be able to talk with her like we were.

"What do you say we work together to hatch some more plans like that later on? We could be a dynamic duo," She sneakily winked and nudged me a bit.

I grinned back, whispering one last thing in her ear before we parted

They seem to like messing with people, you see, and they also seem to be stealing some of my socks..."

"Looks like you all have figured out how to begin. Put your hands over your broomsticks, and say 'Up!'" Madam Hooch called from the front. Her silver hair seemed to stick up in odd directions, and her yellow eyes were quite piercing.

I followed her directions, and I put my right hand over the worn, noticeably old broomstick, commanding it up. I was the first one to get it to listen, and on my first try as well. Everyone else seemed to have issues with it.

"Nice job! You're Diggory's sister, right? Quite the flyer, your brother is, he'd make an amazing seeker."

"He's trying out for the team this year, Madam Hooch," I replied to her. All this attention I had been getting recently was unsettling, and I didn't like it one bit. I had never been one for being the centre of attention, and this was no exception. Susan seemed to think I thought otherwise, since she was giving me a glare of pure envy. She could've still been mad at me for this morning, but I really couldn't care less.

"Great, great. Now," Hooch finished, then gestured to us all, "you must grip your broom like this, and sit like so, otherwise you'll go flying off of your
