After reading through the article “My New Nose” (181-186)it really showed to me and explained to me how big the pressure is on men. After hearing Barden’s story, on how he had the plastic surgery made me realize the pressure that is really put on men. That was a real shocker to me because before I had never heard a common male getting cosmetics plastic surgery before. I have only heard of movie stars and just celebrities getting cosmetic surgery before. “I noticed something: I stopped looking at the nose, almost as soon as it arrived. More men are changing the way they eat and the amount of exercise in order to be more physically fit. A personal story of mine is that my dad started dieting this last spring and also exercising more. He wanted to slim down for my graduation party. He began watching what he ate, and he began to exercise. He ran four miles three-to-four times a week. My dad wanted to look good for some of his friends that had made the long journey to my graduation. In the three months, he worked out he lost twenty-three pounds. Even though he hit his goal for my graduation party, he still continues to watch what he eats to maintain physically
