My Favorite Childhood Place
My Favorite Childhood Place

There was a very big tree that was curve to the swamp surrounded with lots of tree. It was like a small forest in the big city for me. That was one of the picture I found in my memory.
My friend invented this place. It was far from our house about thirty minute on walk. There was a sign “Don’t Enter” showed in the front, but of course who care about that sign. When I saw this place in the first time, it was really a wonderful place. There was nobody here only big swamp and lots of tree. But the one thing that was noticeable me and my friend was the big tree that was curve to the swamp, we ran to it immediately and clime to the branch. Suddenly! my friend jump to the swamp. I scare at first, but then I fellow to my friend. It was very fun that we have place that was so private and beautiful. “It was our from now on” my friend told me.
My friend and I always went fishing and swimming here on the weekend. My friend was older than me about three years. When I was ten I realize that he was not a good boy. I knew that since he invited me smoke a cigarette, of cause I did, kid want to learn everything. It was fortunately that I still don’t know how to smoke until now.
It was really hard to find a swamp in Bangkok. It was like we could go play outside like many kid in country side, that I belief there were very few kid in the big city could have great experience in nature, especially the kid in the present.
There were not many places that can remind me when I was young. But this place is different, it fulfill my childhood experience with lots of activity in nature that I could learn by myself.

I've never been an "outdoors" experience kind of person. Maybe, it's because I'm very sedentary and prefer to stay inside to read and enjoy tranquility. I avoid all types of chaos and crowded places. Nevertheless, my visit to the Camuy River Cave Park (back in 2004) was refreshing and enriching in knowledge, historically, scientifically and spiritually. That experience brought the best out of me, as a human being and a nature lover, by giving the chance of experiencing a whole new level of peace and tranquility.…

Everything in the setting is natural, 'the deep green pool of the Salinas River' and 'a far rush of wind sounded and a gust drove through the tops of the trees like a wave. The language creates a feeling of light and brightness, particularly the "twinkling" water. The leaves are 'deep and so crisp' so that a lizard 'makes a great skittering' as it runs through them. The sycamore leaves turned up their silver sides, the brown, dry leaves on the ground scudded a few feet'. By these descriptions we have an image of a delightful place which is calm and peaceful almost like heaven.…

This place has a very scenic view of the Hudson River with New Jersey in the background. I’ve been going to this spot for about 4 years. When I’m there it is usually because I need to meditate and think over many things, such as current problems and school. It is a place where I am not bothered and I can let out my emotions without other people intervening. I am able to think more rational and sometimes it even helps to study there. When I need to release stress that is where I go. Something as simple as skipping a rock or just staring at the view helps me to overcome certain things. It also provides a lot of space to be able to walk along a short coastline. In this spot I experience my own form of nirvana.…
