Module Three: Discussion Questions
1. The subject of child day care is a controversial one. List different childcare options available to families. What form of childcare do you think will be the most beneficial for your family? Discuss the pros and cons of each option.
There are different childcare options available like inhome child care, day care centers, and babysitters. In my family the best form of childcare would be babysitter because the kids that live in my house are over the age of 10 and do not really need a person inhome, or go to a day care center. Pros for a inhome childcare person is that they are there 24/7, the children aren't stressed, and are in a familiar environment. cons of inhome childcare is that it is usually the most expensive form of day care. Pros to day care centers is that they are more economical and is filled with children the same age. Cons to day care centers is a child can get picked on, hurt, or could feel completely awkward. Pros to babysitters is that its the cheapest form of childcare, and its one on one with the child and the caregiver until the parent comes home.
Cons to a babysitter is they are not all good, could possibly injure your child if misbehaving, or they can neglect the child.
2. Consider your knowledge and experience about caring for children. What have you observed about the needs, behaviors, and abilities of children at different ages? How do you nurture different kinds of children at different stages of life? From my years of babysitting my siblings and cousins i've observed that children at all ages need to be fed, bathed, clothed, and given attention and without it they do things until they get the attention they wanted.
The kids i've watched their behaviors have gone from a good behavior to a nasty behavior in the blink of an eye over something silly. As kids grow older their abilities get bigger and bigger like tying their shoes, getting dressed on their own, learning how to ride a bike, etc. As a child grows older their parent should do their absolute best to nurture their child's health and imagination.
When children start going to school their parent must help their child with all their problems that are too difficult for them.

Explain the different forms of child abuse? Include Shaken Baby Syndrome in your response. The four different forms of child abuse are physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect. Physical abuse is violence that is directed toward a child or an adolescent by a parent, adult, or guardian. Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) is an even more severe form of physical abuse that can be very dangerous if not deadly. Shaken Baby Syndrome is when a baby or a small child is shaken in such a violent way that there is damage to their bones, organs, brain, or even enough damage to cause death. Emotional abuse is when a child feels worthless or rejected to the acts of another adult or guardian but is not physically harmed. Sexual abuse is when someone is sexually explicit towards a child, shows a child pornography, or if a person’s genitals are exposed to a child. Neglect is when a parent is neglectful to a child. This is when the parent doesn’t put their child in school, doesn’t feel, clothe, or clean a child, or to fail to care for their child’s needs.…

The first advantage is it will cut the cost of sending children to nursery. As we know that the cost of sending children to nursery is expensive nowadays. Not only the nursery, hired a babysitter just for a few hours will cost much higher than hiring a maid. According to Kwa on her speech “Now days, a fee for a monthly babysitter is around RM750 and above, and the cost will increase depend on how many children in the house” (Kwa, The Star, 2012). On the other hand, parents can reduce the times that wasted of sending and fetching children from the nursery. Because of that, hiring a maid can take care of children when parents go to work. Parents also do not worry about the payment every month because our government is standardizing the fee that parents need to pay the maid.…
